What finally sold me on the iPad was how many apps it can share with the Mac. I armed mine with a good pdf reader that handles saved web pages, Pages for writing, and which paid e-reader I wanted although you can get many old books free. One of the best things about it is having pictures of things you already have, like beads or fabric, so you don't buy doubles or can look for coordinates at the store.
