I bought 18.5 yards of unbleached muslin. I will work on that skirt next. Don't you have a Joann's in your area?

So, my car's a pretty good little number - it's fourteen years old, has over 300,000 miles, and hasn't had many problems in the five years I've had it (I've put most of those miles on it - back and forth from northern MA to southern CT, a road trip from MA to FL, and many trips to Schenectady) but it's been eating a lot of gas recently and has been a bit shaky. I keep up with its maintenance, but I'm feeling that the time may be coming to the point where, if I get a full-time job come September, I'm going to have to seriously start thinking about getting a newer car.

So basically I'm just shopping for ideas, but I have no idea where to look. It's hard to look for cars when you already have the car of your dreams lol. So...what's everyone's favorite car?

You cannot go wrong with a Subaru. Full time all wheel drive, mine is our car of choice when we get blizzards, it is a 1997 and still going strong.

I shop at both regularly, and never had anything turn up that I didn't like or love. I've even gotten some totally amazing bargains (like pure silk suiting at $1.95 a yard).

Fashion Fabrics club is my fabric store of choice-even though I have fabric stores close by. I love their cotton lawn!

@coloredimage Can I have your old car? At the rate things aren't going we're never going to get the van thing resolved.

The glories of the internet being what they are someone did film Simon Pryce as the Phantom of the Opera. I suppose Phantoms are like Doctors and there's always one who's "your Phantom". I've actually never seen the show and couldn't sit through the one they showed on PBS.

I like the mystery grab bags at Distinctive Fabrics. It's fun not knowing what I'll get.
