I finally got the balance right! Finn is sitting on Fleur's shoulders. His hands are hovering by her ears and she has an arm behind his back in case he falls. Gah, of course the pose works out when it's too dark to get a good picture of them.

I've been sewing a lot lately, and it's always a good feeling when it goes right, but then I end up doing something that makes me think how the heck did I manage to do that...

Finished Elsie's knit socks. Started on a pair for Kathryn (my Hujoo Dana). And I'm sitting here at the computer, staring at a stack of LPs that is as tall as a 3 drawer filing cabinet. The Soul of Spain with 101 Strings, one of my favorite albums. I haven't sewn in forever because I can't find the dining room table under all the homework and magic cards. lol!

Sparky came home with us!! He's an absolute sweet heart although he did just take his first nip my husband. He's very hand shy but I think we can handle it.

Found some clay cheap - I think I've forgotten what little I knew about working with it though! It behaves roughly the way I remember but all of the little tricks I've developed for greenstuff don't quite work... A bit like milliput... Which I used a little of, and then forgot about until it went off...

Air dry, polymer, or 2 part like Milliput? I've worked with it all.

I looked at my supplies and if the final Wiggles are going to be polymer I need to get some, especially black, because I only have Doodlebops supplies. I could go with the black Plus but my worries are the paint rubbing off the shirts as they grind in the hip socket, and Wiggle dust even with sealing. Wouldn't be a worry if I was completely painting the air dry.

I think a lot of it is was me/what I was trying to sculpt - I've ended up with a head that looks like a cross between a person and a primate of some sort... His nose kept trying to crack up - it's harder to make two previously separate blobs stick to each other than with green stuff

You can get cracks if the previous layer has not been allowed to dry long enough. Cold and heavy means wet, light and warm temperature is dry. Some clays will have a slight color change too. To fill a crack make a paste of very watered down clay. When joining wet the spot you want to add too, even after you've let it dry, then add the wet clay.

I plan on one session a day with my air dry projects and if the weather is wet I go by how dry it feels.

I think that recording 12 albums to mp3 for the day is enough. I have a bit of time tomorrow to do a bit more. I can't wait until this project is finished. I'll have time to sew again!
