Tiny people need tiny work

I wanted to show off my three tinies- two Pukis (Piki in NS, Pukisha in WS) and my 11cm Obitsu who just arrived yesterday (hence why she has no face or name right now).

The outfits (other than the shoes) were made by me. They all are made from sewing thread and a 0.5mm crochet hook, and don't require head/limb removal to take on and off. I also made the pink and gray wigs as well.



But these two (now three) usually dominate my creative energy, as I have found that they're the perfect outlet for my drive to make things on a micro scale lol. Hopefully I will get the materials this week to put a face to the newest girl, so I can show more pictures then.

Aww, they're adorable! I am also incredibly jealous of your crochetting (er, don't think that's a word actually ) skills, I especially love the grey dress in the middle.

Those outfits are so darling!! I have only done tatting in that size, but I do have the hooks. Do you ever share your patterns?? That little jumpsuit is too amazing!

As for the patterns- what I usually do is use patterns for larger dolls and just work them very small. For example, Sweetiemom on DoA shared a Littlefee pattern that uses size 10 thread, but with sewing thread and the 0.5mm hook, the same pattern will fit the tinies. I don't tend to write patterns so much as short-hand notes, if I ever want to redo the project (or use it as a starting point for something else).


The hardest part with this stuff is getting it fastened. I used to use tiny buttons (the grey dress actually has 3 buttons down the back!) but they are so fiddly to fasten that I switched tactics. Both the jumper and the lavender dress have elastic necklines, which allow them to stretch to slide on feet first. Not an original idea (I believe there's an etsy seller who does similar with their outfits) but it totally removes the need to try and button or snap anything so small!

I'll try to work up some of my notes if I get the chance today.

These are just so cute!! Your dolls are cute and I just love all three of the outfits!
I wonder tho what sewing thread you use as I tried it and mine is not soft enough to really be worked with and when I work it anyway the dress or what ever I am working on gets very stiff.

The stuff I use is rayon serging thread. I usually get mine from Wal-Mart or Fabricville (my fabric store in town). It's not as stiff and you can tell what it is because it comes on large (for thread) cones that have 2500m of thread. This thread is soft, and works well for tiny clothing.
