I forgot I get exercised induced ashma in cool weather. and I don't have an inhaler. but the weather is so pretty and the bike trail was inviting....

My employer is actually requiring me to get a medical excuse to get off the over night shift... instead of just letting me switch over when there's an opening. (There's been two openings since I requested the change, and they've hired people from the outside instead). I'm afraid that when I do that, they're going to find and exploit some loophole in wording (as I've seen before with a few of my coworkers). Even worse, I hate inconveniencing my doctor, considering he's all ready mad at me since I let my bosses push me into not taking my medication (which sparked all the trouble in the first place).

I really don't want trouble. I just want to work and keep up on my treatment, but it really isn't worth getting terminated from my doctor to keep working my current shift. But at the same time, I can't just quit since no one else in town will hire me, and I can't afford my treatment without this job. [/ vent]

Knittnkitten, are you going to be okay? That doesn't sound too safe (though I sympathize with the temptation).

yeah, luckily when I realized I was starting to have problems I turned around and got back to my car. coffee helped, and I've been taking it easy, and luckily my parents are both medical professionals, so I'll be in good hands.
I just didn't realize that 50s was enough to trigger it and I feel horribly out of shape now.

I am SO going to be in trouble at work today. I've been taking a sick day once a week all this month either due to a raging fever/flu symptoms. Today, I can't talk and it feels like I have rocks in my throat every time I swallow. *sigh* I hate January.

They are "working on" the fire alarm system at work today. It has been going off for the last 10 minutes now. I have tissue stuffed into my ears to help dampen the noise, but my head is already ringing. The ceiling is vaulted, so it amplifies it even more than normal.
