-.- Finances are not my friend this year. 2 mess-ups from as many institutions in as many days, leaving me roughly $250 short. Oh joy ...

Went to a box store to look at buying a new camera. Sales guy got offended he wasn't included in the discussion with hubby about finances and how much we could spend. Sales guy then told me I looked like the kind of person who doesn't know much about photography. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! My youngest son said my favorite hobby was shooting people and beheading dolls. THAT got a strange look. I think we scared him. I really hate box stores and SOME of the people that are hired as sales clerks.

Absynthe, if I were you I'd complain to the store manager. I don't care if a person is making minimum wage, when your job requires customer service you damn well better be willing to offer it. And offending a customer is not part of the job description. Whether I was working in retail or an office, customer service was always top priority to me and poor or worse customer service is a major pet peeve of mine.

That's crazy. I can imagine how aggravating that must be. It's not like photographing is a technical skill, it's a creative skill...

Your mom should have asked for another shop attendend and if there wasn't any I am sure his boss would be happy to help out. I can not STAND people acting like that and will ask for someone else to help me or make very sure the person who does not want to help me knows why I am leaving and will never buy there again (and in most of those cases the volume of my voice will magically get a bit higher so other customers can benefit from my experience ;) )
And if all else fails I have a husband who is a bit more direct at making sure they ALL know.

I've worked customer service my whole life. The job I have now...if a customer is unhappy, boy howdy it's my head on a platter and a poo sammich handed to me. >.< I know better than to make customers angry.

Kirahfaye, he was SO happy to see me leave. I did throw out the "after 20+ years of shooting cameras, I better da** well know what I'm doing!" A few people did stop to look but what my youngest said scared him. "My mom's favorite thing to do is shoot people!" ROFL!!!!!!

My camera did arrive and I am SO pleased with it. I'm glad I didn't try to spend the extra $ for that Sony now!

*sigh* Tomorrow's my uncle's funeral service...I had originally set in my mind not to go because as an empath (I'm dead serious here) I can feel dread, negative energy, sadness, grief, anger in waves and since this whole thing began along with my own grief I've been feeling everything my mother's felt in waves...To a point where I'm feeling terrified...I don't want to go because of it...But I don't want to have any regrets. I'm going to show support for my family and most importantly to say goodbye so I can start to heal.

I just wish I could take one of my dolls...But my little cousins will be there and frankly I don't want to feel alienated because I decided to bring one...Even if having Kaname settled in my arms or even in a case in my purse would make me feel worlds better.

Hide a small doll in your purse, besides you who else would know it was there?

True true...And it'd just look like an eyeglass case. Thanks for the tip.
