I took my kitty, Nula, to the vet this morning and I had to have him put to sleep. I'm so very heartbroken right now; he was my baby

I'm so sorry. That's such a hard thing to have to do, but it is the last best thing you can do for your best friend. Remember the Rainbow Bridge...he'll be waiting for you.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear this! I just went through the same thing last year with my baby - I'd had him from only a few weeks old until he was 16 - it's never an easy thing to have to go through Just try and focus on the good memories and don't be afraid to cry. I'd give you big hugs if I could.

The only advice we listened to after Blarney pup died was to get another, it did help.

I had Nula since he was a couple of weeks old when I rescued him from the neighbor's well. When I first met him, he was so small his eyes were milky blue and he could barely walk. He grew into an enormous, chirping, silly, moody, playful beast of a cat, (he was the 'giant kitty' that appeared in almost all of my doll box openings). He slept at the foot of my bed every night and ran to the door to meet me every day when I came home. He played tag and fetch and made a point of sitting next to the bathtub and cleaning himself every time I took a bath.
I've never been this grief stricken over loosing a pet before and it's all coming at the end of what has been a very, very difficult year for me. The hugs and well wishes really do help-thank you all again
