Oh, and the kinder egg thing is partially on account of advertising laws. I think in the US you aren't supposed to use toys to advertise unhealthy food to children.
And yet we can call pizza in the schools a vegetable so they don't nix it off the menus. Blarg! @Evelien: I would blame a cultural/language barrier maybe. Sometimes what we (Americans) take as sarcasm or a joke, is actually insulting to someone else.
