A blogger I follow actually is from Canada and she said her American boyfriend shoveled a whole one in his mouth before she could smack him. lol
I don't eat cereal anymore, do they really not put the little toy prizes inside now? :c well that's sad.

Yeah, here in the US they even have to label clorox bleach mops "Not for personal hygiene." It's sort of ridiculous. Actually, it's incredibly ridiculous.
Oh, and the kinder egg thing is partially on account of advertising laws. I think in the US you aren't supposed to use toys to advertise unhealthy food to children.

I really hope cirquemom did mean it that way. Would you believe I never even considered that... I asked my boyfriend and my brother if I overreacted and they both interpreted the 'less lawyers' thing the same way I did, so I never even considered that she could mean something else... :o

And yet we can call pizza in the schools a vegetable so they don't nix it off the menus. Blarg! @Evelien: I would blame a cultural/language barrier maybe. Sometimes what we (Americans) take as sarcasm or a joke, is actually insulting to someone else.
But, at the risk of this entire conversation free-falling head first into the badlands...

...there is entirely way too much makeup marketed to us people that use it.

Yes to the sarcasm, that must have been it; no to the language barrier, I don't think I misinterpreted what she said because of the language barrier.

I think my English is pretty okay... it's just certain expressions that confuse me, cirquemom phrased it quite literally. I'm still thankful for you people telling me what 'elbow grease' was after I'd been looking for it on eBay because someone said I needed it to do something LMAO!!

It tends to be why I end up using "lol" and smiley faces a lot online. I get upset if I think someone misinterpreted me because I didn't write it with a clear indication that I was joking :P The internet doesn't translate sarcasm very well, haha.

Me too!! I'm really neurotic about that myself. I use smiley faces all the time to make sure people know I'm joking... And when they don't do the same I'll get all insecure :-P

Cereal prizes are in the box separate from the cereal or you have to send away for them. Packaging is so ridiculous because you have to put age limits on stuff with small pieces, which I can agree with, and half the other 'don't stick in your ear' crap.

As for parents not doing their job that's why I have to keep so much stuff in my room. My dolls and toys aside I don't want to have to police little cousins and guests from my DVDs. Bright pink and yellow packaging means Barbie/Princess if you can't read, right? And that one has dollies on it! Look, a stuffed bunny!

...except the box itself! Somehow, they think nobody will notice when the make the box bigger and fill it with less.
