16. What do you think about dolls being in relationships.

I like seeing dolls, or their characters rather, in relationships whether platonic or romantic. It just adds more possibilities for different interactions. Of course, like everyone else as said, it isn't the inanimate dolls that are in a relationship, it's the characters they represent.

All of my characters that I have as dolls live together at the Curiosity Shop, so everyone has some sort of platonic relationship with the others. As for romantic relationships, Alwyn's character is in a secret but commited long distance relationship. I don't have her girlfriend as a doll yet.

I would really like to have a romantically involved couple but by process of elimenation that means Fleur and Dru would get together. Which would be a dsyfunctional relationship with pseudo-incestous vibes so no, that won't happen with their characters. I sometimes do take pictures of them as a couple for a laugh or as an alternate universe sort of thing. I guess I'll just have to make sure the next doll is either Alwyn's girlfriend or a love interest for Fleur.

Several of my dolls' characters are in a romantic relationship. Some were established before they were dollified (in the case of the Shadow King and Gabriella, the two main characters of my novel), and others find themselves a partner after they arrive. Or not at all. Lore and Evensong are my oldest established couple. Lore was my first doll, and Evensong was my second. They've been in a relationship from the very beginning. I've been considering getting them a young daughter. Journey's character, on the other hand, is a firm bachelor. He's a scholar and a teacher and thus far that seems to be his main passion in life. Well, when he's got his hands full with two adopted rambunctious 12-year-old elven mages-in-training, I guess that doesn't leave much room for actual romance.

And then there's Kestrel, who really wants a boyfriend but hasn't settled on one yet. Although she's been making eyes at Ryujinn since he arrived. Ryu's expressed interest, but he's a slovenly, lazy, self-absorbed dragon prince, so it isn't like he'd actually be GOOD for an 18-year-old half-elf. They are fun to photograph together, though, since they both pose SO amazingly well.

I don't have a problem with it either way, but for my own my dolls are either the reason they show up in my stories or I thought the mold would fit the character beautifully. I had a dolly head come into my hands some time back and I chose to find a character to fit them in the story line rather than choose the doll for a pre-existing character. For me, the story line exists whether I have dolls for the characters or no, but there are indeed romantic entanglements that abound so I do have dolls in relationships, lol.

I have to update with an addition, as now Angel, my RS Dai boy, is in a very committed, albeit currently long-distance relationship with Myrretah's Dallieh... though again, it's still the characters that are together, not necessarily the plastic. Even with that distinction though, we still just cannot wait to get them together in the same room.

I have no problem with it. The only issue I may have is an abusive relationship, but that's just me. As for my group, once I can get (or in Lee's case, make) older versions of them, I'll have some dolls in relationships. The closest thing I have now is Rook, though he probably won't get his boyfriend for quite a while so... everyone's single!
