Well, that's good~! ^^

Btw, why does oil ruin resin..? :o What happens to the resin if you put oil on it...? Does it "melt" or something? XD (i'm curious to know... also so i know how careful i have to be) is all oil/grease bad? in the sense of "never ever touch your doll with greasy hands after eating a hamburger cos it will melt on the spot" or...? (not that you should touch anything with greasy hands... ^^; )

Oils don't evaporate very fast so unlike water an oil spot will remain for a long time. Resin and vinyl are also quite porous and oil (as well as other contaminants) will soak in making them difficult to remove. These oils spots will attract and hold dirt so soon your pristine doll will be coated with a dirty, greasy, hard to remove film like a door knob on a bus station rest room.

LOL - yeah, you can rely on K2 to be .... descriptive!

However, do remember that *anything* oil based is bad for resin - not just paints, but other oil mediums like oil based colored pencils. Resin can be delicate and there are a number of art mediums and cleaners that you just don't want to use on them. For example - don't be tempted to used permanent marker on your doll.

I did realise that anything oil-based would be bad, but thank you for the advice~! I wouldn't use anything on my doll myself, I don't rely on my artistic skills enough xD any makeup/etc changes would probably be done by someone else... ^^; I wouldn't've thought of some of the stuff, like permanent marker (didn't realise the ink was oil-based til you mentioned) but i can't see why i would've drawn on my doll with a perm marker anyways :s

anything else i should take into consideration? ^^ I know about the sunlight, and like i said my doll won't see any sunlight, I hardly see much myself XD

Even if you never ever ever take your doll outside it will still yellow eventually. I NEVER let my dolls get near windows, but those I bought when I first started, back in 2006, have already yellowed. It shows the most on the "white" skin ones, but eventually it happens to them all.

Personally I like the size and relative slowness of this forum. It's nice knowing that That One Tutorial You Need won't be buried under one billion posts the next time you're looking for it... :D Plus the larger forums seem to be mostly geared towards resin in general and larger scale (A)BJDs in particular, and that's not really my thing.
