But kick around here for a bit, let people get to know you better and I'm sure someone here would be glad to shoot you a DoA invite. We're pretty nice here at the Sanctuary, so long as you don't troll and don't take things too seriously. :)

okey dokey lokey ^^; thankies... and i never troll o.o only really damaged people do that... anyways~! i hope i get an invite then at some point ^^ and on-topic is fine for me, i'm only interested in ABJD resin dolls anyways ^^; I mean, i'm not prejudiced against other materials or styles... XD but the only style that really appeals to me is ABJD ^-^ and pu-resin is a wonderful material, i don't think anything can compete with that... so i don't mind if a forum is only about resin bjd dolls, as they're (mostly) the only kind of dolls i like ^-^

So, what is it that you like about resin dolls? I know that I like the feel of the resin and love the pretty tans that you can get. At the same time, playing with the 11cm obitsu has me spoiled when it comes to posing. I only had resin until joining this forum. The combination of the Haruka head in tiny form-nano Haruka http://www.flickr.com/groups/nanoharuka/pool/ and the tiny 11cm body won me over to the vinyl side. I love the affordability of the tiny obitsus and the fact that I don't have to worry about sunlight changing the color of my doll like I do with resin.
The Madh Vinyl girls sealed the deal and are the reason my favorite doll is a tiny nekomimi.

I have to admit, it was a lot of fun creating a nekomimi version of my real life cat.

What are your plans for your doll? What kind of look do you want her to have? Will she have adventures?

Well, I tend to make at least a few posts every day........

I also post on another popular (non-doll) forum that gets a HUGE amount of traffic and threads fall off the front page in a matter of seconds...

On here, you can usually expect a reply to a new thread within the first 24 hours of it being posted.
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I love the feel of resin ^__^ i don't know how the vinyl ones feel like tho :s when i feel vinyl i somehow think of barbie... tho looking at the pictures it looks more like resin and less like barbie, tho idk... anyways, barbies feel horrible XD 'oily plastic'

btw, are there only small vinyl dolls, or also big ones~? it would be interesting to check out larger ones... who manufactures them~? ^^;

She'll look cute, pretty in pink, and dreamy... She'll have an out-of-this-world look (i'm pretty out-of-this-world myself, so it only makes sense :D ) and as for plans, well, other than taking care of her, loving her, and playing with her, and telling her my worries... I plan on making stop motion animations~! I like stop motion animation ^__^ and... you'll get to see them, once i do~! XD (but that will be a long way away... first i have to save up for her and she's pretty expensive :s )

I thought the same thing, about vinyl feeling like barbies or other playline dolls, but then I met Kiki-chan's Omi, and realized it's not like that at all! I'm also working on painting a vinyl SD size head. It actually feels a lot like resin, but lighter. ABS plastic has the same texture as resin, but again, lighter. I adore my RL dollieh friend's Hujoo Suve. XD

Eventually I do want one of the 55cm Obitsu boys, but he's a bit lower on the wishlist priority than some of my character dolls. After I finish my layaway for a couple ResinSouls, I'm starting a piggy bank to save for my grail dolls, both Iplehouse: Akando in the new peach gold skin, and Claude in RealSkin.

Obitsu's are some of the best dolliehs on the market. I spend any resin doll funds I manage to get on my Obitsu's...Without fail. (I kid you not.) It feels just so smooth. Plus their posing is top of the line. Plus no re-stringing, no sueding and they come in every size from 1/3 to tiny!

(I got 27 cm's, a 21cm and an 11cm. My two 27cm's are the normal female and the slim male both with magnets, my 21cm is a Parabox Muffin with magnets and my bitty is a Nano-Gretel.)

Though different company's have different feels. Like Groove Inc./Jun Planning ABS feels so delicate and just...Amazing. I don't touch my Dal often (big headed boy doesn't get much action he's more of the 'Look at how cute' type that sits and looks cute.) but when I do I just gotta hug him. Monster High dolls also feel different then Barbie. The materials have changed a lot over the years. There's also Liv doll bodies, the Barbie Fashionista's which are articulated and Moxie Teenz.

Besides Obitsu as far as BJD's go, there's Goodreu another I can't recall the name of...There's quite a few. I think Dollmore Dolls are ABS....(Someone whack me.Hard if I'm incorrect) and Hujoo also makes Resin and Vinyl. I believe their action dolls are ABS...If I'm wrong again someone whack me.

That's exactly why I do like it here. I don't like the bigger doll forums I've seen very much. Too busy for me to keep up and I also don't like doll forums with cliques of members who seem full of themselves. Actually little boards can have their drama issues too. The last board I joined I left because they called me out as being "bad" for doing something I actually had full permission from a store manager to do. Not long after they praised someone who was a member of that little clique to the skies for doing "exactly" the same thing.

Put me right in my place, they did, and for no good reason, IMHO. To condemn me while praising someone else for doing the very same thing? It was totally hypocritical and nasty of them and it ruined that board for me. I still lurk there sometimes to see pics of new things but I never sign in or post now. That board is really dying of late. I go there to look and the only thread that hardly ever sees any action is the MH one. It makes me feel bad to see it because at one time that was a really great board but I also kind of understand why it is that way now. It's not the same. There's a group of people on there who basically rule that board and anyone they don't particularly like isn't going to be happy there. Sooner or later if they don't like you you'll end up gone. They'll just somehow find a way to make you want to leave....

There's none of that BS here from what I can tell. This is a lovely, helpful little doll community and I'm glad I found it. It may not be the biggest doll board out there but as far as I am concerned it has heart and that's far more important to me than the number of posts every day.

I agree with Magkelly. This place has sooouuuulllll....

Haha but seriously, it's got it's lulls in activity, but there are always new posts every day, so it's not like weeks of no activity. And if you're an active participant, and post lots, then people will know your name, and probably even some of your dolls. Everyone here knows Trethowan's Ivan, or richila's Cordie, and Lamia's Clover, just to name a few. And of course, we have MADh vinyl too. Which makes us trump every other board out there.

If you have questions about anything doll related, there's probably someone here that can answer it for you, or at least direct you to some place you can find the answer. If you want to share something that happened to you, whether doll related or not, good or bad, then people here will empathize or rejoice with you (whichever is appropriate). We're a small community, and most of us like it that way. That's why we're here! :)
