Can't wait to see further work on this. :D I have plans for an android girlie in the future, so I'm interested to see others' take on it! I saw an extensive robot mod being done on Resinality, too. ( http://www.abjds.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6337 if you're curious~) Are robots in vogue now? :P Every doll is so individual, I doubt we'll end up with a glut of similar android/robots, especially with all the unique mods being done!

It seems so. I can think of at least two companies who released robots recently and there seem to be more mods than before.
The odd thing is, I mainly started Mu as a Hatsune Miku doll and she went in a totally different direction!

Were you hoping to modify it so she could kneel all the way down, with her thighs touching her calves? I wish that were easier to do... Some of the 60-70cm dolls have that range of motion, don't they? And I think they do it with a knee joint that floats even more freely than the ones your android girl has. Would it ruin the integrity of her knee to remove that small lip on the bottom of the back of her knee joint?

I'm seriously considering removing that lip because it's very annoying. Hopefully her knee will still lock in place after.
I would've liked to make her knee fully double jointed, but the ball parts would have had to be only in the knee piece, which means cutting the ball out of the lower leg and building a new one in the knee piece. That would take forever. Though like this, the legs will still be able to hold a kneeling pose, just not all the way kneeling.

Getting dolls to kneel all the way down is really hard, isn't it? The antique Japanese dolls actually had hollowed-out backs to their thighs so they could kneel properly.

Ahh, I see how that would be an issue... It's a shame she doesn't have a more independent knee! But it is hard to make that look sleek for a female body. And EAB's totally right about the hollowed calves! I forgot about that. I don't suppose her thighs and calves even touch? Although perhaps thinning her thighs and calves might make some difference? I think you should sand that lip a bit flatter, maybe? I'm no expert, just crafty, so take my advice with a grain of salt. xDD I look forward to seeing the other parts of the mod, too~ :D
