I totally agree with you Eve, it seems that through out the years disney starts leaving the original character designs for the movies and just proceeding with the current images that the princess line is coming up with.. thats why I dont care for the mattel one, shes wayyyyy to tan and her cheeks are too chubby :C and the older princesses dont look a thing like the dolls,

Just once I wish Disney (or someone) would do a closed mouth adult Ariel 12" or 16" doll that doesn't cost $200. I've been wanting a closed mouth Little Mermaid forever but other than the kid play dolls and designer dolls that cost a small fortune they haven't gone there. I like Tonner's 16" Ariel a lot but $200 is just way expensive and any Ariel doll is pricey even used except your basic kid ones and the 12" Barbie that's all over. I like my Princesses more sans the cheesy smiles. Both of my Belle dolls have the old non-smiley sculpt.

As for Anastasia I liked her too. I keep hoping I'll stumble across her in a lot of dolls one of these days. I'd really like to add her to my 12" Disney girls. I like that Pocahontas. She's pretty at 12". I have the really big Pocahontas put away for a redo. Found her at Goodwill a while back. She's lost a lot of face paint and her hair is nasty. I have to find her a wig and redo her paint one of these days. I also have a baby Ariel and a little girl Snow White and a little girl Belle that I've managed to rescue from the bins. I think the baby Princesses are adorable actually and I love the kid Belle. She's the prettiest thing.

come to think of it, your right, I've never seen a closed mouth ariel doll. I think its cuz the viewers rarely see ariel with a closed mouth smile. there's a used Anya for $1 on ebay. they also have other ones on ebay too unless your looking for anastasia in the yellow dress, I rarely see her used or cheap

With all the powers of repaiting and rerooting we have making a closed mouth Ariel shouldn't be impossible for someone here. I don't know the mold name but i have an Earring Magic redhead from the 90s with closed mouth who could make a suitable Ariel.

This pisses me off because now I NEED that Belle, but really need to buy a new body for Blade :c

I think these dolls are really cute except the outfits are boring. The Mattel doll clothes have cooler ideas, tho the execution is severely lacking. (Would it really hurt to put the design on both sides of the dress, Mattel?)

Outfit wise these bodies are the same as Barbie so any of her patterns will work for them. You can find loose princess outfits on the web and they sell outfit packs for all ten princesses for the Disney Store. I picked up the green Ariel dress at the regular store.
