My decision on how to handle a situation is always colored by the circumstances. The Tumblr being discussed blatantly steals photos without asking for permission, even to the point of cropping out or blurring watermarks. And they brag about it. Never mind their commentary on the actual photo, they've violated the rights of the owners and should be reported for Tumblr TOS violations until they're taken down. And if Tumblr won't, then report TUMBLR for DCMA (sp?) violations. THAT will get their attention!

Actually, that's a good point. I think we could probably get them shut down easily, if we can get a few more people to file DMCA against them, rather than politely messaging them about their pictures.

I like tumblr and I think like any place it has its good side and its bad side and people just get cough up in the negative about the site ^^;

I wouldn't put reblogging in the same pile as stealing images and messing with their water marks, I've had times on my blog where I've posted links to other blogs because I think it's worth looking at. Legitimate sharing and memes make the internet go around.
