My first experience purchasing a doll with DDE was anything but good though the second doll I bought was a decent experience. I have several friends who claim to have hot/cold customer service from them, as well. If I can get it from JS or MOC, I'll go that route first.

Yeah, I'm one of the few DDE naysayers and used to promote them as great but... but then the weirdness started. They sat on one order for a while acting like they couldn't bill me for it because they didn't think the combination would work (DZ 72cm Cosmo I'd already researched and called them ahead of time to explain and be sure they knew I knew what I was doing). I did finally get an invoice and the doll worked out spectacularly, no neck gap at all like what I was expecting.

Then they sold an event head on me. That's really what it comes down to... tried to tell me that I hadn't requested it properly, even though I mentioned qualifying for it and being unsure if I actually had to ask for it via email when also having to resolve a site-related bug that made the order the wrong doll (really seems silly that I have to ask about wanting an event item at all, but MoC has the same policy) because I couldn't find event info. So yeah, DDE after the fact tells me I was supposed to say I wanted it in the order notes, as per the event info which wasn't even online at the time I made the purchase because FL had cancelled the MNF winter event item all of a sudden, then just as suddenly introduced the event head to cover the MNF orders after all. And DDE told me I could either wait and "hope they get another one" that nobody had already claimed, or I had a choice of one of two previous event heads, neither of which I wanted, and I was already very disappointed over the whole order to begin with as the qualifying Luka fullset was my dream doll which is a whole other rant (and I've made a few enemies on DoA for daring to speak out against FL o.o;; ).

So after a ridiculous 4 month wait on the Luka and another month wait on the event head which thankfully I did get... I'm an MoC girl now.

-twitch- 4 months? My mom just got an email from them (we already ordered the doll but seems the ordered didn't go though so they were emailing to make sure we still wanted the doll) and my mom comfermed and said yes and all
oh gosh I hope it's only 2-3 months (meaning the doll will get here in February or march) like it says on the site now I'm a bit nervous

Keep in mind... some doll companies can get backed up really easy, especially this time of year with Chinese/Lunar New Year coming up in a few weeks. In some places factories and shops close down for more than a week so people can go home for the holidays. Also some companies are just slow with orders so it might not be DDE or any other distributor's fault. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised, but if it does take a little longer, you might have to blame the Year of the Dragon!

Yeah, often it is the manufacturer that causes the problem with wait time. That's one of the many reasons it's better to shop at Junky Spot!

Unfortunately the JS's resin doll department is rather limited, though :)
