The weather: has nature gone MADh?!

It's been weird here too, had some really cold days and a couple inches of snow in October, then it was unseasonably warm through December, then last night we had some high winds bringing us down to a much more seasonable 29 degrees F and we've got a dusting of snow out there now. I think we've had something like seven inches so far this year, it's just been really spread out. At least now that it's getting actually colder I remembered to fluff up my down coat with some tennis balls, and the warm spell made it so when I went to buy some clearanced sweaters, pretty much everything I wanted was still in my size! So score for me, my winter wardrobe's needed a bit of overhaul.

We just got out first substantial, (ish) snow last night...which is pretty strange for NE Ohio. We've usually had several stretches of below freezing weather and a few good snows by now. I'm not complaining lol...but ti has been pretty weird.

Supposedly, we're due for a late spring with REALLY bad flooding, (the water table is at an all time high here apparently)

Dusting of snow, I said. I shouldn't have said anything, because now the air's turned white. *facepalm*

Here on the Gulf Coast, the weather has always been weird, so I can't really say it's weirder than usual. Right now it's super windy and about 50 degrees outside, expected to get down in the 20s tonight. On Saturday it was in the 70s.

Our only snow this winter here in Jersey was back in October during the rain/snow/sleet mix that was a Nor'eastern. We've been averaging about 40-50 degrees F here. Not amused.

I had bought new snow boots and really nice gloves expecting arctic chills.

Lol yeah... lots of shops have their snowshovels and sleds out in front of their shop windows lol... they can't have had too many buyers

lol Florida always has weird weather too. Though it's been unusually warm. Normally we get lots of mid-sixty to upper seventy temperatures, but we had a few days where it spiked into the mid eighties.

No winter in Lithuania. According to forecast the best we can expect is -5 Celsius and no snow. There was a bit snow in November or beginning of December but it melted the same day. Today was rainy day and more are to follow. New Year's Eve and January 1st were below 0, though. And here it also feels like autumn or early spring.

Oh, I should mention we've had a tiny little bit of "wet snow" as we call it, the kind that you can't see because it melts as soon as it hits the ground lol.

It's a shame really. Across the street there's a park that turns into Winter Wonderland when there's a lot of snow. A lovely sight from our apartment
