I know I found it odd when the FedEx person just happened to try to deliver my doll from MOC during the 75 minutes I was not home. Fortunately, he did deliver it the next day.

GH, if you haven't done so already, shoot MOC an email outlining the problems you had with FedEx. They'll be back on the 27th and I'm sure they'd want to know anytime their courier of choice doesn't do what they are supposed to do.

Apparently there's a YouTube video of a FedEx or UPS delivery guy throwing a monitor box over the fence of a gated home (security camera footage) without even trying to press the com to the house where the customer was waiting for the package. I guess he wanted to joint that flight attendant guy in the unemployment line . . .

Well here is my update for today - and it just FILLS me with confidence (read that with sarcasm).

Mark, the manager, called me to say that they are working to get the package to me as soon as possible. Problem? They don't seem to know where the driver is. Yep, him and his truck - no clue. Even sent someone to his home to see if he was there.

but they'll get that package to me today!

yea....right....I'm beginning to wonder if i will ever see those dolls. Oh yea, there are TWO dolls in that box - an Illusions Spirit Spirit and Illusion Spirit ZhuJin.

Kirahfaye - thanks, I'll definitely let MOC know about this horrible service on the part of their chosen delivery service.

Greyhaunt, I'll back you up on your complaint to MOC -- Just got a new girl from them & the FedEx guy never bothered to knock or ring the bell, even though I was inside waiting. Left her box sitting outside with a sticker on the door & off he went -- guess I should be glad he didn't just toss it down our steeply sloped driveway. But there's been a rash of boxes being stolen off people's porches & entryways here lately (Christmas, comes with the season, alas), and it annoyed the crud out of me to find it out there when a visiting friend went to leave. In spite of all their bad press, I'd much rather go with USPS -- our mail delivery people always bring packages down to the door & use the doorbell!

OMG, this is getting worse and worse. I called for an update - they STILL haven't found the driver. He's not answering his phone so they don't know where he and god only knows how many packages are. I mean, the guy I talked to said they are going to be threatening to call the police on this guy!

I'm livid, just frigging livid. Sure, they offered to deliver to another address if I go out tonight (which I will because it's frigging XMas eve) but I don't exactly want my parents to know about the dolls - I don't TELL them about my dolls and it's their house I'll be at.

Dammit - hasn't my year been shitty enough - did I have to have this happen as well?

Off-topic, but why don't you tell your parents about your dolls? Mine know about them, I won't tell them how much they cost me though...

sigh...my parents know about my dolls to a certain extent, but I don't tell them how much they cost or how many I have because I would get endlessly lectured about wasting my money. My parents are very "sensible". If you don't NEED it, you don't waste money on it. The fact that having my dolls and sewing for them and such helps to get me through my depressed times wouldn't quite qualify as a NEED for them.

Anyway, it's all a moot point as at this time I've given up on seeing the package today - if ever. I've called FedEx and told them that if they manage to find the package they should keep it at the area office and I will pick it up myself on tuesday. I'm going to try and forget this nightmare for the next few days so it doesn't utterly ruin my Xmas.

I know what you mean. About a week ago my parents asked me if I still buy new dolls and they looked so worried and appalled that I felt obliged to say "no". I did tell my mum today that my boyfriend bought me the Blueberry, somehow that felt right lol, because in this case I'm not the One "wasting' money, my boyfriend is. She seemed happy for me but the only ones WHO really like my hobby are my boyfriend's father, my Brother's girlfriend and my colleagues.

My phone is randomly using caps, sorry about that...

and don't let IT ruin your Christmas, IT's not worth IT.

Sometimes the secret to success is giving up.

About 30 minutes after I called FedEx telling them not to bother delivering today anymore because I was just tired of it, the FedEx office called me with the awesome news that they had found the truck (apparently not the driver, he is still MIA) and the package(s) and someone was on the way to deliver it to me. 10 minutes later the driver called asking for directions as he was having trouble finding the complex and a minute after that I met him in the parking lot and got my dolls

I've now had a massive sigh of relief and I will have a very special box to open tomorrow. Yea, tomorrow - unless I rip it open after I get home from my parents' place tonight LOL

thanks for everyone who "listened" to me rant, it helped me deal with my utter frustration
