Yes, young kittehs are noisy, go where they shouldn't, do what they shouldn't. and are all like, "Wut?" when you tell them to stop. Booger is 2 and is still in kitten phase. When I got her I hadn't had a kitten (only adult cats) since 1994. It was....an adjustment.
My previous kitten rescue, Mr. Biddles, came along when Ski aka Demonspawn was a crochety five year old...he'd always been crochety, he was just five now. Biddles wanted to PLAY! He'd gotten his throat ripped open inviting the wrong alley cat to PLAY! After I got him healed up, he worked on Ski and figure out how to do it: run up, TAG you're IT! and run like Hell, cuz Ski was going for blood and guts. He kept this up for many years. He'd settled down, comparatively, and was about seven when the UnHoly Terror aka Monkey Butt was rescued from the drive thru of the local Jack-In-The-Box by myself. They had plenty of time to get to know her better for a few months as she was in a crate until she was healthy enough to test for Felv - they spent that time mostly hissing at her from the doorway of the kitchn.
She tested negative.
And then she was FREEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Mr. Biddles was her favorite play-toy. He'd come thru the kitchen, belly low, hissing like a leaky locomotive and she'd follow doing a spot-on Pepe LePew boink-boink-boink. I told Biddles it was Kharmic payback.
Now Monkey Butt is a bit over a year old and they DO play, mostly, though she's MUCH more enthusiastic than he. I think he's warming up to her.
