I've been wanting to do it for three years now, first year, I found out after Nov started. Second year, I had just had a baby and left the hospital, this year...I don't know if I will have enough time with a 1 year old. lol

I know what that feels like, lol. My son was 3 months when NaNoWriMo rolled around and I was typing one handed because I was the only place he would nap. I gave up pretty early on that year.

I created a NaNo accountability group with friends here at home. I hadn't thought about signing in or anything. I guess I could. I'm trying to fluff out 2000 words a day. Micah and Ivan finally get their silly little story told. It will be good practice for me.

It is fun, my husband and I are our own local accountability, but I have quite a few doll buddies on-line.

I've heard of it, but never actually attempted it. Perhaps I shall try it this year..........

>_> yeah, right. I'm too lazy to actually do that. If I seriously work on anything, it will be doll-related.

I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

I hate it. It causes people online to vanish for the whole month of November.

Some of my advice from the letter I did for them last year.

Don't be afraid of doing fan-fiction. Fan-fiction is an excellent way of dealing with the pressing problem of building a world. You don't have to. It's already built for you. Now you can concentrate on your own characters and stories without getting bogged down in world-building details. (Like me, I just realized I need an entire village and town full of Welsh names....yay interwebz).

I'll be starting my NaNo adventure this afternoon! I've decided that instead of battling a head full of lesson plans and trying to write on the days I teach, that I'm going to turn my non-teaching days into writing marathons. Not so sure how this particular strategy is going to play out word count wise, but I have a feeling I'll come away with more use-able material this way lol
I'm really excited about NaNo this year :D I feel like I've been neglecting my writing for ages and this will be the first time in a long while that my health issues aren't messing with my short term memory and taking a crap all over my thought processes.
So...whoo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My strategy is to write something everyday and then as much as I can on the weekends. I have the entire week of Thanksgiving off and plan to be a writing fool for that entire week. :D
