Most Expensive Dolly Purchase??

Postby djhirokun » Sat Oct 01, 2011 2:01 pm

Sorry if this has been asked before but what is the most you have ever paid for your dolly? My most expensive purchase would have to be the Enchanted Renaissance Ballroom Giselle and Edward set.

If I remember correctly, I paid 40 dollars for the set. I regret not buying them on sale when they were only like 12 dollars at ToysRUs. Even for something like this, I felt it was a lot of money. I guess I'm just cheap. I wanted to purchase the Hot Toys Chris Redfield but not for 400. I am just curious about everyone's purchases.

Only $40? ~falls off chair laughing~ Taffy was about $500 by the end, but price per inch is between Orientdoll Lucy and the Phantom of the Paradise.

And $400 is ridiculous for a Hot Toys, he better have some damn good stuff.

I'm not even a Bratz fan, and I think the kimono girl is *gorgeous*. Love the outfit on Edward!

Most expensive for me so far was the first porcelain Barbie, way too many years ago. ^_^ She was...$225? Like I said, a long time ago.

I have been tempted by Hot Toys' Iron Man, but so far haven't given in. However, Big Chief's Eleventh Doctor may lead me too far into tempation to resist. :lol

That would be the Mei and Rong I just bought. Ended up being $250 because I also bought a pair of hands, but it was a full doll and another 1/2 of a doll... and that was with my 25% discount! >.>
A hobby isn't supposed to leave you wistful, regretful and vaguely disappointed. BJD collecting is as customizable as the dolls themselves. Do whatever pleases you the most, because otherwise, why do it at all? All for the 'Gram Bitches love the 'Gram.

To date would be my Hot Toys Captain America at $180. I was able to get flex pay which helped break up it. He's a preorder so I haven't gotten him yet.

After that would be my Impldoll Jasper at $140 but when I open my Chase checking I got $125. So to me I was only $15. XD

I bought Mata, my Elf Chiwoo, for $400, but he came on a girl's body, so I had to buy him a male one... That was another $179-ish, so $579 to get him as he is now.

$62 (plus 8 for shipping) for 11.5" Queen Beryl. (She's rare and she was new in the box... and one other bidder kept fighting me for her... I almost gave up when I bid $60 and the other person went $61..... but I didn't.)
I have so many dolls that I can't fit all their names in my signature anymore. @__@

They may seem expensive but you'd kick yourself in the head if you never got them. XD

The most expensive BJD I have is my IOS Sezz... I honestly don't know how much he cost me as I had to buy all of him seperate, but I know it's a lot. And he has jointed hands. But at least I got his head when sezz first came out and with a group order so we got a good discount. v_____v;

I'm not really sure about the non-bjds... I buy a lot of them at thrift stores or second hand, so I get good deals. But probably Meg from Hercules. She came with a lot of extras.
