Another Cat Girl? (x-posted at JS)

Postby fleacollar999 » Wed Aug 24, 2011 6:30 pm

Mission Objective: To make a doll into my DnD character, Nissh Thunderpaw.

Excuse the fail crossbow in the picture below, I obviously don't draw weapons very much.

Image

PERSONALITY: One word to describe Nissh is "fast". She runs fast, she talks fast, she falls in love fast, and she falls out of love fast. She's quite the charmer and loves to flirt with anyone. Nissh does, however, have a serious side, though it rarely rears its ugly head.
LIKES: Flirting, daggers, running
DISLIKES: Anything she doesn’t consider “fun”
HOBBIES: Flirting

SPECIAL SKILLS: Tracking, dagger throwing
WEAPONS: (miniature) Heavy Repeater Crossbow
MAGICAL ABILITIES: None as of yet

FAMILY: Parent, 5 siblings: 2 sisters and 3 brothers
BACKGROUND: The daughter of a catfolk chieftain, Nissh gained notoriety in her clan as an accomplished outrider. One day, after she finished scouting the area, she returned to find that the clan’s camp had been attacked by a band of human slavers; the women and girl children were taken away. Blaming herself for not preventing the attack, Nissh has set out on a quest to find her captured clan-mates. So far the trail has led her to Strife’s Haven…

That bit I took straight from the campaign's forum... It's not a very good description of Nissh's personality; it's hard to capture a character in a few words.

Over at the Junky Spot forums we decided a 40cm Obitsu would be good, but what do you guys think? Maybe a Monster High body would work, but I don't like the heads. Any suggestions? Throw 'em at me!

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it!

bigger dolls might allow for more detail and the build or a monster high would be a great body for her but myself I would go with a coffee 27cm bbb. Mostly for price but the slightly smaller dolls are also easier to carry around. After all you might want to take her to play D&D. I'm thinking either the march or even bao head remove the elf ears pop on some kitty ears and give her a kitty nose mod. Make sure to order the more mature Isabella body for her and then accentuate her curves a bit by sanding. If you stick with the coffee skin as the base the tan super sculpty is the perfect shade for any additional modifications as well as the ears, jointed tail, and the feet. Just airbrush the full body and she should look fantastic.

I like all of the plan except the airbrush bit-- lemme explain. I know airbrushing would look fantastic, and in a perfect world, I would do it. However, I'm poor (really, really poor) and can't spend $98+ for the doll and then ~$300 for an airbrush/compressor kit. So yeah. I would do it if I had a job, but I don't. Stupid big college where I don't qualify for work/study!

You might not need to airbrush her. I'd just use pastels, but then again, I can't afford an airbrush either...

I don't blame you there~ airbrushes are a bit pricey. I just suggested it because I know it would be the best thing to do. If you don't have one you could borrow hand blushing can work just as well. I've done it with three of my previous kiddos. Tedious but the end result is worth it. Really all you would need to blush would be the whiteish parts and then the spots if you didn't want to add the bit of orange. you could even use some white acrylic paint watered down and then the black spots then msc spray and go over it with some blushing to make it all blend and look as if it were blushed. Whites pretty hard to build in pastel from my experience anyhoo so paint would be easier.

just get in good with one of the professors. back when I was in school I used to snag school property all the time for my own devices. Its almost worth paying for a class just for those privileges *waggles eyebrows*
