First an earthquake and now a hurricane. Finally, the east coast gets interesting.

Apparently we're getting hit right by the eye which is BAD. Winds are worse near the eye. Are you evacuating the coast? I'd recommend it.

Stay safe, you two.
Catshem: where in PA will you head toward?
Lexagon: are you just going to ride it out, or do you also have plans for a temporary move?

If we do make a break for PA... I have no idea. We joked about going to RenFaire for the weekend but I think they'd close from the rain they might get.

Oh, the joy of hurricane season! :?

Having ridden out my share of them in the last 20 years, I'm hoping for the best for all of you in the predicted path.

I'm right in the Jersey/near Philly area too :< Family has been trying to get everything put away and stormproofed, my aunt and uncle next door have a lot of ducks and hens which have to get rounded up and put away in their sheds as well. We don't have a basement, but our 'barn' is actually a decent sized separate apartment built of cement block so its more stable than the actual house should we need hurricane shelter. Just hope, if it is this bad, that it doesn't carry off our office trailer with our shop equipment in it.

Thought this might prove to be helpful to people, just to see where you guys fall at. It would seem that we're going to be evacuating to somewhere in Pennsylvania or Virginia, they haven't decided yet, depending on which track the storm is taking, right now it sounds like it's going to be the worse track. Fun fun fun.

We are planning to open shelters on Saturday here in MD. Twelve hour shifts. :? That is a long shift. I just wish I could get paid for the time like most of my coworkers but I can only get comp time.
