Those are the names of doll models (body types) from various manufacturers.
Not only are there the sizes in the topic title, but people throw out model names as if they are themselves measurements. How the heck do I know what size a MiniFee or a Delf boy or a Super Gem represents?
Well you go buy one. Doesn't every one have a Super Delf Mini?
Worse, why would people use such vague references when trying to sell stuff - especially clothing?
It's easier to just state what doll you made it for rather than listing a few measurements.
Am I expected to keep a cheat-sheet on hand to verify what doll measurements match my doll(s)?
Yeah, if you really want that dress.
Is there a doll size database somewhere that doesn't require a Master's in data management to understand?
Nope.
Helpz . . . .
When people sell stuff that "fits Super Delf Mini" (whatever) that means they made the outfit sized to fit their Super Delf Mini. They mostly don't care what other doll the clothes might fit. It's up to the potential purchaser to find out if it fits the doll they have. Sometimes they may add a measurement or two, but it's usually up to the purchaser to determine the suitability of the article of clothing.
Yeah, kinda makes it hard to buy stuff sometimes.
If I'm shopping at say...ebay, I wait till I see something I really, really like.
Then I do some research on the dolls they say it fits. When they only say something vague like, "fits most SD dolls", I look carefully at the outfit. Since I know my Obitsus are generally smaller than "most SD dolls", I look to see if the outfit can be altered smaller without too much trouble (cuz I ain't got da needle skills). Yeah, it's taken years and a few mistakes (not as many as shoes-grrrrr) to figure out. Still working on it.
