*greyhaunt chokes on price tag* Believe it or not - you can get the basic doll cheaper buying it through a proxy from the japan store!!!

$929.95 (77685yen today) is definitely a secondary market price. That model, Miu, retailed for 68000yen. That's $813 at today's exchange rate and the dollar was doing better when she originally came out. It looks like Yamato USA is selling Miu at a premium since she's a limited edition that's been sold out for some time. When Yamato Japan sells the Type B bodies (not the full sets like Miu) they run 28000yen. Factoring in proxy fees and shipping and you're still under $550.

However, if it's the only way to get one...

I know I've done stupider things.

Isn't the head the regular 50cm Obitsu one? It looks like it.

The VMF50 girls have had their own custom head sculpts with painted on or closed eyes. The first open eye head to appear was on the Type F.

Also the recent (October 2010) re-release of Miu (Type B body with tan skin) used an open eye head very similar to the stock Obitsu 50cm.

Yeah, I was very tired and should have been more specific. The F-Type, was the one I was referring too. :3
