Hi, y'all. Yeah, I'm still alive & skulking, even tho I can't spend much time online - yet. The light is starting to be visible at the end of the tunnel, tho ... hoping it IS the tunnel exit & not the usual 4.10 express train, as is my usual luck.
Updates:
1. I finally really truly retired. Permanently. Now I get to sit on my keester all day with my feets up (leg edema) which after the first week or so is annoying 'cause there's stuff I want to get up & DO besides sitting around. I can't even use the computer, cause it ain't a laptop, & this I'm using now requires me to sit upright, besides being in the coldest room in the house. Agh. Of necessity, therefore, my time hereon is short for the nonce & mainly limited to using it for actual Mundane business, like banking, etc. Bummer.
2. I'll be moving sometime in mid-Sept. from Fred. MD down to Bristol, TN. More on that later. I hope to have an influx of visitors from amongst you all, but will have to stipulate that there will be limitations: you are requested to only bring 35 of your 1/3s, 50 MSDs, or 175 1/6s, max when you visit, due to spacial constraints, as the 'new'' condo is only about half the size of this one. JanetT, this applies especially to you but you already knew that.
The fun part is I'm already getting to bore the crap out of everyone by yammering on & on & on about what I intend to do to the place once it's mine to destr...uh, remodel. Initially I was going to gut the place, put in faux wood flooring, then just have wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookshelves put in & forget about wall space, but am in the process of rethinking that, since it leaves me no place to hang my art & paintings, etc. I do intend to do the flooring, replace the vanities in the baths, replace the tub w/a tub/jacuzzi, & replace the kitchen cabinetry just for a start. I may extend the deck which extends the length of the living room & overlooks the mountains of TN/NC (on a clear day you can almost see forever, since it's on the top of one of the highest hills in Bristol), but that might come later. Fun-fun-fun! No, I didn't hit the jackpot, but the cost of living down there is about 1/10 what it is in the DC area. Why Bristol? Well, that's where my ex-roomie & her family, who adopted me some years ago out of kindness, even if I am a Damned Yankee, live, & they're basically all my family now. We figure we can all fall apart togetherwhile we try to cheat each other playing cards, monopoly, scrabble, etc. I make a fourth, so they're almost as anxious to have me down there as I am. I get to replace the Dummy. Hmmm ... that doesn't sound quite right, but what the hey.
I do still have my kids, the guys Abner the IpHouse Hulk & Berke the Unidoll maniac, plus Ollie & Bella. I don't plan to get any more because as it is I've had to move the girls' wardrobes from my walk in Master BR closet where they occupied most of the space, to the BIG walk in closet where they now occupy one side of the entire 8x15 hanging area. For those of you not familiar with me or Bella & her refusal to wear any outfit more than once (an attitude now adopted by Ollie who used to be more reasonable), I post a grim warning: DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU! CURB YOUR DOLLS BEFORE THEY CURB YOU!

One of these days I'm going to have to have a sale of some kind. Bella's just going to have to bite the bullet, somehow, spoiled royal brat that she is. This is YOUR fault, Tigerbabe: you named her, after all.
There's more, but the timer just went off, so I have to go. I'll try to post more regularly. I've been dreadfully remiss, even though I do sit around & miss you all dreadfully. Honest I do. Besides, I've been away so long, I'm afraid if I do go on, some of you who don't quite remember my posts, or those who don't know me at all, may go into shock. I'll get you used to reading my online versions of 'War & Peace' (aka NancyRants) later.
Ciao, all. I'll try to be a better poster & participant here.
Love & hugz,
Moi
