Freak-out time -- my first 1/3! [scroll down for face-up!]

Postby claws » Fri Feb 04, 2011 7:58 pm

I recently bought this Domuya Flexi body from KumaSmash, and just today I got her head (Elfdoll NS Vivien) in the mail (after a short delay in customs) I am soo happy, you guys! This is my first big doll, and my first resin on top of that, and she's totally gorgeous. For some reason, Elfdoll didn't ship the acrylic eyes I ordered (and they won't get my message about it till the 7th, after the Korean New Year holidays) but KumaSmash sent along some green-gray eyes (as well as a cute purple dress and a pair of tights XD) so I'll be able to give her eyes just as soon as the eye putty gets here...unless I get impatient and just go find some sticky tac...probably should have done that in the first place. XP
The clothes I ordered from Mimiwoo and the wig from Mybayer2008 on E-bay aren't here yet, but my girl is getting a face-up on my day off (which gives me something to do on Super Bowl Sunday...I don't hate football but I'd honestly rather be messing around with my dolls  )
Anyway, I'll shut up now. Here she is! (oh, ignore the date. I have to take the batteries out of my camera every time I shut it off, and it gets annoying resetting the date all the time)

(With my two newest 1/6 girls in the background...maybe I'll have time this weekend to do their face-ups, too)

I seriously thought I'd never get one, but everything worked out somehow. Awesome. :D I'll post more when she's finished. Thank you for looking!

Vivien is my favorite Elfdoll sculpt! One of these days I'll get my hands on one. Congratulations to you on your big girl! And don't forget to post pics when when you've finished her face!

She looks like she already is developing her own personality! I love Domuya's, and the head seems to go very well on her too! Don't they seem large after the little ones? Hard to believe that if you take a pattern for the small dolls and double it you get one for the big girls!

Thanks very much you guys! XD

zirconmermaid: I knew she was going to be big, but I was not prepared for just how big she was... And much heavier, too! But her face-up was a bit easier, since I didn't have to worry about painting eyes this time, so that was cool.
XD Once I gain some decent sewing skills, I'm going to have to find some cute patterns...doubling the 1/6 ones is awesome, since that adds to the actual amount of patterns I could use, too!

I did her face-up today. Now all I need is her wig (which should be here soon...it shipped from China over 10 days ago. :/ )

The eye makeup was inspired by my sister's daily look. =D The glitter was just...well, I just wanted there to be glitter.

Does there ever need to be a reason for glitter? She looks GREAT!
