I once had a package that went from New York, to Washington state, disappeared for a week, wound up in Atlanta, then got bounced back and forth between different states and Palmetto Georgia for ten days. That package ended up in Palmetto at least four times. It was like USPS was playing pass the blunt under the bleachers with my package, and Palmetto Georgia was that one kid named Kevin who kept saying, "Come on, let me get one more hit of that."

Finally!

He's a hefty boy. I'll try to post some pictures of body comparisons between him and some other male dolls in my collection tomorrow. (Though he will have a different head because Seth IMMEDIATELY yoinked his body. I don't think Querelle is upset, though, because he does have a slightly bigger wardrobe now. Seth, however, is going to be spending the next few weeks being a mannequin while I make him some clothing patterns.)

Y'all, help, the more I handle this doll, the more I'm falling in love with them. I NEED more buff, Tom of Finland-esque dolls in my life. I MAY need to get another Querelle just for collecting purposes . . . And maybe a few more Adonis guys . . . You know. For reasons.

Oh, I also got this hottie in the mail today. (Get it, because he's Hottie Ken?)

He's in desperate need of replaced elastics. Poor boy can't even stand up straight. He has the early Fashionistas Ken body with an articulated waist. The problem is, this era was still using elastic in the hips and waist. He's from around 2009, and 15+ years hasn't done the elastic any favors. But he was a good price with all his original clothes, and I needed him for a photo story project I HOPE I can get up and going by the end of the year. I have a LOT of prep work to do before I'm ready to begin.

Very nice!!!!! :) I know what you mean about loving certain bodies more than others! Not sure if this will help (or badly enable) but I saw this:

It's not just the bodies, I love the faces and clothes these guys come with. I just really like the vibe, if that makes sense

Thank you!

Unfortunately, I now have to work tomorrow so I won't be able to get any pictures for a while. I wanted to do a body comparison.

I've been out of the market for years but for hot muscular 1/6 scale guys with 30 points of articulation look no further than the licensed figures and scale military brands. Places like Monkey Depot and Big Bad Toy Store (and possibly others) along with Ebay sell parts and whole figures.

The biggest thing is to make sure you have the right type of neck, altho they do have adaptors. There are whole necks with a knob on the end (like for fashionista Ken types), split neck (the most common especially for custom heads), and necks with the sockets in the shoulders. There are soft squishy skin ones with internal skeletons too. And some can be on the atomically correct side if that might be an issue but most are like Ken dolls.

I'd have to check the specific brand of body he's on but Alex does have a nice tummy. This is not his factory body.

I'm really particular about my dolls and their bodies and making sure they all sort of match the same aesthetic. I'm REALLY particular about the way the joints and bodies look, and I WILL sacrifice articulation for a certain look. For instance, Vivian and Selena have the wave 1 articulated Fashionista body with the upper torso joint. It has a different waist proportion compared to the Made to Move body, and I prefer the hand shape, so I have opted to keep them both on those bodies rather than put them on MtM bodies. Same with my trio of sisters that are Hula Hair dolls. I could easily color match MtM bodies for them, but I like their current body proportions for the characters, so I'm keeping them on their original bodies. A lot of the male dolls with more articulation have joints that I personally find very distracting. (It's why I don't have a lot of action figures in my collection.) The Adonis body fits into the category of "decent articulation without jonts that look odd beside the others". Also, Seth is the only guy who "needed" a buffer body, so can't justify NEEDING to buy more buff guys . . . My brain just enjoys the new dose of serotonin.

It is my own personal hell that I have created for myself.
