September started yesterday, which means Sketchtember for me. I'm gonna use this month to sketch a bunch of fanart I have a backlog of, there's a lot of characters I want to draw from doll lines I like.

My only current "project" is more research for the fantasy story I've been working on, and theme park ride research for future doll stuff.

I have a story rumbling around in my head, too. I was considering doing NaNoWriMo (for the first time), but after reading their stance on AI (and the verbiage used), that's not going to happen. :|

I've been working on and off for about half my lifetime. It's actually starting to turn into . . . Something.

I think I'm going to start working on completing my G1 Monster High collection . . . Or at least completing it as much as I can. I was originally collecting the "main school outfit" of each character, with a few exceptions (like Catty Noir). I don't really care for the newer dolls, they just don't do it for me, but there are a handful of characters I'm missing from Gen 1 that I still want, and they're only going to go up in price. I know I'll never get the Scarah/Hoodude or Valentine/Whisp sets because they've become astronomically expensive (especially since they confirmed Val is LGBT), but some of the play line dolls I can still get. Plus, I've lost the pets and purses and diaries for a lot of the dolls, which I want to get to complete them. So that's my current "project" I guess.

If we lived closer I'd be of half a mind to sell you my whole batch, minus like the reroots and perhaps a few others, because they've spent the last 5 years or so in storage tubs. I pretty much have all the regular Monsters, extra clothes, diaries, accessories including sticky ones in separate bags, and what stands have survived.

Would you believe me if I said I actually still have Nefera, Operetta, and Cupid's rings? Granted, I used school glue to affix them to their hands back in the day so they could be soaked off if I so desired, but I do have them!

I really need to get my ghouls out and give their hair their semi-decade degunking. Poor Twyla . . . She was screwed from the started.

Has anyone heard of or tried the oxiclean method for degunking doll hair? I saw another collector talking about it, and if I could potentially NOT have to spend several sessions using goo gone, that would be GREAT.

Random update with a piece of advice for my fellow Gen 1 Monster High ghoulies. If you're going to store them, wrap them in tissue paper. I pulled mine back out of storage, and the glue seepage, while there, is actually not horrible. I had them wrapped in tissue paper originally to prevent color bleeding between outfits and dolls, but the paper actually helped absorb a lot of the glue. Even OG Twyla's hair is actually brushable! (If you know, you know.)

So yeah, I guess that's my tip for storing the old Monster High ghouls and mansters.
