I'll see if I can find one of those girls in the wild, meanwhile the fabric store's moving sale reminded me I still don't know if the plural of Liberace is Liberaces or not. So I'll be cutting out piano themed clothes for awhile. They'll get their hair painted after my centaur gets here so I only have to have all the stuff out one time. Someone here had an interest in one of these fellows but I can't remember who :/

Well, I decided to make a full set of Sailor Moon 11.5" dolls in the 1995 BanDai America doll style.

Back in 1995, when SM first aired in America, BanDai America released 6" dolls of the 5 Inners and Beryl; and then a few months later, 11.5" matching dolls of them. (Same style)

I remember searching every Kay-Bee and Toys R Us for the 11.5" girls, but only ever finding Venus!! I was so upset at the time!! :laughs:

Then in 1996-1997, we discovered the BanDai Japan/Asia 11" dolls via mail order anime shops and eBay; and then in 1998-2000, the Irwin Canada dolls came out.
The Irwin Canada 11.5" dolls are extremely similar to the BanDai America 11.5" dolls in aesthetic but not quite. (The Canadian ones are a bit slimmer in the face and body and less poseable/less cutesy than the 1995 BanDai American dolls.)
Then Irwin America released 11.5" dolls in 2001-2002 which were more like the BanDai Japan look, too, so the 1995 BanDai America dolls were kind of forgotten, especially since the Canadian dolls looked so similar and had the Outers as well as the Inners.

Over the years, we found the other 4 BanDai America 11.5" girls (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter) and I made a custom Pluto and Uranus for our collections, but I never really went the extra mile to complete the set by making the rest of the Outers, Starlights and Asteroids.

Well, now I am going to do it! FINALLY!!! Gathering all the dolls needed, and using Rainbow High bodies for the shorter characters. (Asteroids, Mini Moon)
I figure I need to reroot 9 heads (Neptune, Star Healer, Star Maker, Mini Moon, Vesta, Ceres, Juno, Pallas and Chibi Chibi.)

Here we go!!!!! :)

Getting ready to play 'name the manufacturer of that plastic dollhouse furniture' ca 1940s-1960s edition as we try to get a handle on the "pizza box thinggies make great tables" and "look at this random bag of furniture from the junk store" mixed in with the stuff I grew up with. Along with occasional rounds of that's not my squirrel family that lives in a log. Remind me to post pics of them, they're adorable.

Apparently I once had the fancy 3 story Fisher Price dollhouse because I have the furniture for it.

Not doll related, but I did my first game system reshell.

The shell actually blows in the dark! I have clear green buttons coming for it at some point, but shipping from China feels like waiting for Christmas.

Sure it's doll related. A lot of games feel like playing with a doll.
I am Tam. Tam I am. I like green eggs, but I don't like ham. :D

I tried linking one of my adopted click pets here, but the board wouldn't let me. :/

I guess RPGs ARE just playing a preset story with a virtual doll. Sometimes you even get to customize that doll!

I wish I could figure out some sort of collective group pretend project for my dolls. I miss the feeling of going to Imagination Land with a Barbie in a shoebox tied to Breyer with a scrap of yarn. I was able to dress my 90s Skippers in mono color outfits to play Sailor Moon.

What my next real doll project needs to be is the grand sorting and dealing with all the Barbie stuff in the house, making sense of loose shoes and accessories, determining who stays and who goes, finding things I haven't seen in 40 years because they got "lost".

You have traveled to a long abandoned city where you have found a vast and varied number and kind of survivors of a low-level apocalypse; they are living randomly with whatever they can loot from the city. It is your job to find the homes of those who still have relatives, and organize the rest so they can start living like people and not like Gilligan's Island without the Professor.
All you damn kids get offa my lawn!

That actually makes a great writing prompt.
