I remember seeing the first Barbie in stores. Mom wouldn't let me have one; I suspect they were too expensive.

My mom wouldn't let us have any because she thought they were too 'sexy.' However, we had a 'no more dolls after you turn 12' so for our 12th birthdays, we had to pick out one last doll....and of course I picked Barbie.

Meantime, my latest buy isn't really doll related. Finally got 3 bookshelves to put in my guest/reading room which is still full of boxes, but at least the boxes of books are mostly on shelves now.
Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Between both of our dogs having medical issues and my car needing repairs, we haven't really bought anything new and certainly nothing fun. I have bid on some Tonner clothing on Ebay, but that won't finish until Sunday and I'll still be at JordanCon.

It would be something to study those of us who weren't kid glove gentle with our dolls, I had a couple of dolls who had early head swapping and painting etc experiments, and if we became customizers as adults. I was always allowed to play with any toy I wanted, I was also dirt poor and don't seem to remember having many new ones anyway.

My personal gripe with Barbie was the same old blonde Superstar face on every doll, and the lack of joints.

My sister got me Bella and Jade from Rainbow High for me for my birthday. I don't have them yet, but I know she got me them.

Bought a pattern and the yarn to make a 1.5 meter long crochet octopus, so that's how my life is going.

If you make any yarn pattern out of crochet thread and a small hook it automatically comes out tiny.

Oh, no, I desire a full sized octopus. That's why I bought this particular pattern.

This one is going to be my bed buddy. Hopefully it doesn't strangle me in my sleep.

It also makes it impossible for me to see to work on it. XD One of the many things on my list of stuff to save for some day is a magnifier so that I can complete this one crochet kit doll that I have here.
