How to photograph eyes?

Postby Hiroku » Sun Sep 24, 2017 1:14 pm

I have a couple sets of doll eyes I'd like to sell but when I photograph them the colors are always off. I've tried indoors with the lights on, in the light of a window, and outside sunlight but they always come out poorly.

Any advice on taking good picture of eyes would be appreciated!

Sounds like you need a form of color card https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_chart I have a small digital color card I got from Amazon.

It sounds like you may need to set the white balance on your camera.

The white balance settings will change based on the type of light source that is illuminating your subject. So there is no one setting that will accurately render all colors true to life in all circumstances.
