I know of Brad Pitt... I think he'd have a pointier chin. For Guy Man I wanted a square face with a short nose.

Sooo, this one is going to sound a little odd and if anyone can give advice or help for finding the best price (UK based member here) I will gladly take it and give you many hugs in response. And, y'know, gratitude for always.

Okay: my next planned buy is on the more expensive side for me, but I've been thinking on it for a bit, and looking through and yeah, I'm going to go it. I'm going to try to get a Hot Toys 1/6 figure. Try because the one in particular I'm looking to get is The Crow - that's this handsome guy right here - and he's been out for a few years now. I've managed to find a couple of places that might be able to get it, so it's just a case of saving up/selling collection pieces I'm done with to be able to put toward the cost of Eric Draven. I'm really hoping this will work out - so wish me luck, please!

Ooh Werepuppy - I do hope you manage to find him for a good price, he's a fun figure (yes he is amongst my own 1/6 group) though admittedly not amongst Hot Toys best, though that's good news for you, since a quick Google has revealed that evilbay aftermarket prices are still pretty reasonable if not lower than the RRP. If you do go the evilbay route the usual advice about reputable seller applies.

I'm not sure if any of the usual places will still have him in stock but, forbidden planet, Big Chief Studios, Sideshow, and Big Bad Toy Store are the usual places that I tend to aim for (though sadly the current exchange rate isn't favourable!), Black Ops Toys sporadically has fullsets, but they're a seller that parts figures out generally. I suspect the exclusive version will be long gone by now, though tbh the weathervane isn't all that great an accessory.

Vetinari - I am so curious to see your 1/6 group, it sounds like it's got some amazing members in it! I have found a couple of sites that have him at a decent price, so I'm hoping that by the time I've managed to save up the money, he'll still be in stock. Which is always the worry, isn't it? Stock disappearing before you manage to actually get the thing you're looking for

In more mundane dolly terms, I am kind of hoping to make a representation of Thomas Sharpe from Crimson Peak - a rebodied Jakk's Alice is proving a decent Edith, though I've got to try to make some of her costumes still...

Thanks! I do hope you manage to get a hold of him, for all that I really do think Hot Toys could have taken more care with The Crow, he is probably one of the best figures of the character that'll ever get made. (Though my inner-Crow nerd is still peeved that they didn't include the scar, Brandon Lee had it included in his make-up dammit!)

(I may try to photograph the guys that aren't boxed up - though several in my group are near-permanent box-dwellers... And of course the boxes are stored in an incredibly awkward to reach area of my room. Basically my surviving 1/6 group divides into Star Wars, Marvel, Buffy, Doctor Who, and well... misc.

They're an odd mix of as-packaged figures, kitbashes, and others that have been customised into submission because their original outfits/accessories were so dire! I'm quite glad that so far Hot Toys is sticking to popular Star Wars characters, I suspect that if they ever delve into the license as deeply as Sideshow did I'm going to be in trouble! My current 1/6 kitbash projects are a custom Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (and, well depending on whether I find a suitable headsculpt, a Victor Von Doom as seen in the 2015/16 run of Invincible Iron Man) - I am not a fan of the way the MCU has been representing Bucky's metal arm, and want to give him an Iron Man replacement part that's been suitably repainted.)

I have been lucky enough to find a site that has it in stock - and I'm not saying where so as not to jinx myself - and I've worked out a rough date I could have most of their asking price by, so... Here's just hoping it all works out according to plan. The price is a LOT better than I thought it would be, so I'm cautiously optimistic. I think the fact that he's not entirely screen accurate helps me a litte, because my head has started to sort of rewrite who Draven is (yeah, he'll be known as just Draven here) so I don't feel horrible about having Eric but no Shelly for him. >< On a related side note; I really need to re-watch the movie. I got sucked into watch the tv series and it's ... actually sort of fun, in a way I can't really explain.

Vetinari - my 1/6 scale that isn't MH/EAH/Disney divides into Doctor Who, Star Wars and Buffy as well, funnily enough. Granted apart from the Buffy Sideshow figures, it's playline versions for each - waiting on the Real Heroes Rey to be released, I'll rebody her so she can hang out with Finn and troll Kylo Ren. Actually, someone remind me to look into rebodying Finn and Kylo too. I feel the ache of my wallet when I look at the Hot Toys pictures from SDCC and I know I'm unlikely to really get any of them but I feel like the unmasked Kylo Ren head will be something I try to get. Maybe I'll kitbash a Ben Organa-Solo from it. I do have a Tom Hiddleston sculpt on the way to help kitbash my Thomas Sharpe figure, and a Stephen Amell sculpt to make a Macintosh from Brave. Which... is actually all I'm waiting on to finish that doll/figure. Well, that and shoes but I'm not sure what type will work.

Oh, in playline news? I spotted the DC Superhero Girls line at my local supermarket. I've been very fortunate so far and managed to get hold of the Trinity but I need Bumblebee so badly. The design of her hair is just amazing!

I wish there was a place to get a good selection of Power Team Elite guys. I have so many ideas for doing mods but I don't want to do any of my guys I only have one of. Making Anderson's brown eyes blue is one thing. If I had the spare guys I'd be making Cure and knitting them tiny little sweaters.

Or if I could find skulls or something in the right size to base my sculpting on. Most of my peoples end up out of scale or some other little irk that practice can't seem to fix. :/

*Little rag Cure dollies, like in the original Close to Me video. That would match their general scruffy look. Might try a crochet or knit version. Did find where I put some AMP molds I made of some of the older heads I made to give me a start.

So Iplehouse is coming out with a new line of dolls. The FID. the female is at 46cm and a mature female like their EID. Haven't heard anything about a male if they would do one, but I do hope it can go toe to toe with Souldoll Vito (52cm). I would definitely appreciate a chibi Dexter for the Team of Runts if not a chibi Ryu-ish sculpt to swap shells with VR(His "pilot" is very loosely attached to his shell, unlike the other three).

Helen would most likely join in as an Obi47-50 or a FID or a Bishonen house Mira by a trickshot unless Kula managed to upsize herself by then.
Yes by now I do have a thing for odd size dolls, Blame Megu-Chun for starting a trend.

 Argh!! The HT prototype Stephen Strange looks amazing (loving the magic hands - anyone know what those things are called btw - rune arrays, magical matrix? They look a lot like the markings used in Fullmetal Alchemist) and the minor incongruity of him wearing hiking boots under his mystical robes though I suppose it makes sense given that the trailer makes it look like he backpacked to Tibet. (Just like Methos habitually does, oh gods I've got a horrible feeling I've just talked myself into this figure irregardless of what the film is like)

Totally on the verge of starting two extremely long layaways for HT Iron Man armours, on the whole I'm avoiding the "House Party Protocol" armours, but I do confess a couple of those have been tempting... But the "main" armours have always been fair game and well three are available right now that I adore:

MKVI, the armour I passed up in favour of the MkIV is getting an updated re-release, and I'm trying to decide if I should get the MkXLVI, aka the armour from Civil War... Not to mention the temptation of the MKXLV armour which is sinfully organic looking...

I think all bjd plans other than repaints are on the back burner for the foreseeable future!

We are expecting the arrival of a modded MNF Moe body and a Seorin head on Monday or Tuesday. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to be moving in together soon and to celebrate my daughter finally being in a relationship that makes her truly happy, I decided to create dolls to fit their personas. Joy considers herself gender neutral, she's a girl who identifies with guys, but loves girly things, too. Colby is a guy who likes typical guy things (cars, sports, tech), but hopes to eventually transition to be a woman. It makes for a unique relationship - at least for this mainstream Christian mom who loves her daughter no matter what (and is pretty fond of Colby).

So, anyway, I'm going to be making a doll for Colby with a Souldoll Ahee (think tomboy meets Lolita) and one for Joy from the Seorin/Moe (which has a modded chest to look almost, but not quite as flat as a boy) and hope that the difference in centimeters shows the 1-ft difference in the couple's real height.

My dilemma will be making the dolls look "right". I know Joy and Colby have their "look" firmly implanted in their heads, but that's just not reality. Besides, I could just buy "off the shelf" BJDs to fit that. I want them to be more true to life. Colby is a tall, gangly guy who will always stand out as a female. And Joy is a petite, beautiful girl who never gets mistaken for a guy no matter how boyish her outfit is.

The kids know all about my plans and can't wait to see how the dolls turn out. Neither can I! Oh, and yes - I am comfortable enough with the caliber of people on this forum to share what might be considered personal information and not feel judgement either toward my daughter for her nature (she's pretty open about it) or for me as a Christian (I'm pretty open about that, too). Thanks!
