The 60s should arrive tomorrow, and they didn't really have a place to live in my workspace. My two 1/4 scales have been living in one cube of an IKEA Expedit, but they barely fit there, and the taller pair won't fit at all. The only good space is in the corner of my workbenches, which is where clutter goes to die. Dolliehs there won't end clutter, but they will displace it and force a better solution than stack til I can't ignore no more. (And I get an Expedit cube back, so the paperwork can go there.) It's about 24" W x 18" D x 48" tall, so if I'm willing to go tall, they have space. I started to build them something like bunk beds, but didn't like the way it was developing (looked too childish). Instead, they're getting an impressionistic treehouse space. I've got the high platform built; I'll paint it, wax it and install it tomorrow. I've got the frames for the ground floor furniture done; they just need textiles. The middle rooms have nebulous ideas (storage, perches) but I don't want to marry something that won't work.
In the world they represent, they live in a treehouse anyway, but I don't have space too build then a 1/3 scale treehouse (not indoors, and my outdoor trees don't map to their scale). I'll get creative with landscape images for background.
And I've got very basic, semi-wearable muslins of a pair of banyans for the big ones so they need not live naked while I get their fitting blocks established.
Your kingdom is the earth on which you walk.
