I don't think of the Phantom as a $$$ I see a doll with a plunger who reminds me of "I can tell drug real from real real" and all the joys the movie has given me.

What about Sleeping Beauty made you want to get the dolls in the first place? And why not make a display for the deboxed couple that will fit in under a dome or in another display box?

Ooh, they look gorgeous!!

I received my Fairytale Designer set last week and it is beautiful---happy they finally resculpted Phillip's facemold to actually look decent (still not terrific, but so MUCH better than their 'previous/normal' mold! I think they realized they couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear with that old sculpt and had to remake him for this line and the 17" line! I still don't love his face (doesn't look like Phillip to me) but it's 1000x improved from their clowny Phillip head.
I also wish they used more fabric for her skirt-----it's not flowing at all, just sort of a pretty cone bag. :( But, ah well, they are still beautiful and the sturdy plastic case/display is incredible!! :jawdrops:!

My 17" Aurora and Phillip arrived last week, but my sister confiscated them as 'birthday' presents for me on Nov 20. ^^;; So I'll have to wait until I see them in person!! I am definitely thinking I'm going to redo her in purple----now just to find the proper brocades and such!!!!
It's so difficult to find a brocade with a smallish pattern---most seem to have 5" wide patterns which won't really work for a 17" doll, so.....I'm on a hunt!!! :)

Anyway, congratulations on the dolls!!!!!! Never mind how much they cost-----you won't even know it after awhile---enjoy them for their beauty and think they are worth the cost! :) That's what I do, too. ^^

I just don't know where I'm going to put all these huge boxed dolls! I'm definitely going to need to redo my Sleeping Beauty closet now......

Thanks for the gorgeous pics!!!!!!!!

They look lovely - congrats :)

That sort of attitude unreasonably annoys me. Then I remind myself that they probably only say/think things like that to make themselves seem somehow special and superior, and then just laugh at them for being idiotic snooty snobs :D It's the only way I can generally not respond ;)

I've been a SB fan ever since I saw the film first-run back in the 50s. (Yes, I'm that old!) Princess, fairies and a dragon? What's not to love?!! And the gorgeous artwork. I'm a big Eyvind Earle fan too. I admit to being a bit possessive about 'My Princess' but I'm also happy to find others who love her too. Just not thrilled at those who buy collectables just to scalp them.

I am looking into buying a new shelf for my Disney dolls and maybe finding a way to enclose it to keep out the dust. Trying to buy a pre-made display case would be too costly for me as they are pretty big. (17" big to be exact!) I'm going to do some research this week on my days off.

Thanks! I just kept telling myself it was probably some kid who just hasn't learned any social graces yet. But I was secretly pleased that after watching the new release again, the final shot of her is in pink.

I fully agree! I wish he did look more like the animation.

Good luck with that. I know how hard it is! I'm always on the hunt for patterns that will work with my Ellowynes. However, I will say that from what I can see, it's all machine embroidered rather than brocade. I have way too many dolly dresses planned and not even cut out yet, so I shouldn't take on yet another, but if I saw the right purple, I just might get inspired to make my girl a purple dress too. I really love her in purple!

Pinocchio ain't got no strings and my dolls ain't got no boxes! Nothing should be separating this couple after all they went through. :)
