I don't know what that is, but given your already awesome skills I know you'll get to it very soon.

This is the stitch I am trying to do...I can't say I am trying to master it...I can't do 3 stitches in a row, yet.

I should be working on outfit for my Mari. I have done basic pattern, but I have totally no idea how it will fit, so first mock up vesrion is in order before the real outfit.

Doing a trade of custom outfits for a Dream of Doll Idol... ee so excited. Yanno, I never used to like Dream of Doll. They all looked the same to me. Now I'm falling in love.

Finally worked out how to get a nice finished looking skin texture when using green stuff instead of ruddy fingerprints or strangely flat flatness... A sheet of craft foam!! Gently push it into the surface and remove... Brilliant!

Almost halfway through a crochet wig for the Celtic/Nordic Sheep Deity yarn guardian (who will be a mix of Resinsoul bits - only waiting on the legs now)

Going to try the crochet doll pattern again, it looks like size 5 thread and an E/00 hook should result in a 1/6 scale doll. No pipe cleaners this time, they didn't make that much of a difference.

I'm also getting the want to try and make dolls again, especially when the new book comes in. I have to fix part of one of the French guys' heads then finish them.

Boom after much fiddling with an impossibly positioned screw (ended up using a ratchet screwdriver ugh I think I might just glue that particular piece back rather than rescrew it...) all of the removable large chromed parts have been successfully separated from the body of the Bratz radio/car thingy. There's a few smaller bits that have been clicked and then melted into place... So I'm going to have to experiment with sealers for those parts. But the fenders and windscreen and interiors are all separate! So should be safe!

It's going to be resprayed from it's current purply-blue sparkly colour into a bright "Italian Red" and the interior is going to become cream with tacky brown bits around the dashboard. Hopefully it will end up looking reminiscent of this beauty:

http://www.chevroletpedia.org/2009/05/1 ... vy-impala/

Predictably none of the electronics worked (I checked) so I've gutted what can reasonably be removed. Wow the level of detailing on what is essentially a dolls accessory... The wheels are front wheel drive, the gear stick has various positions, and the radio functions are controlled by the car's tiny stereo... There were rubber mats in the footwells and the seats have removable upholstery O.o

The only bit I'm really worried about spraypaint-wise is the wheels - they are pretty solidly attached to the metal axels with no visible way to remove them. I think lots and lots of masking tape will need to wrapped around them.

And excellent bonus - the 1/6 guys on the Hot Toys bodies will happily sit in the car if you remove their feet, which luckily is intentionally very easy!

Finally got around to finding some RIT in the UK - I'm sure I could substitute Dylon, but the RIT was cheap, and I want to quadruple-check the type of Dylon that would be equivalent to the RIT for future use. I think this RIT is equivalent to Dylon Machine Dye. All the other Dylon dye types are "reactive" dyes that actively bond to specific fabrics rather than the general use "boil until it soaks in" that I think this RIT stuff is but I'm really not sure. The RIT might be either type - but either way I think I have an explanation for the varied success people have had with RIT liquid not working at all but RIT powder doing the job!

The project?

I'm going to attempt to make a dye-bath that will be capable of permanently altering the colour of ABS-based parts - such as hujoos (and joint parts in other brands). From spying on RC and Puzzle forums a 15% concentration of Acetone added into the dye-bath should do the trick. It will allow the dye to soak into the outer layer of the plastic permanently - not just a scratch-off coating but actually in the outer micrometre of the plastic.

I'll post pictures of the results - be they disastrous or exactly as hoped for! (If this actually works I may very well use this as an excuse to finally buy a Hujoo Arthur - and immediately dye him...) I'm not sure who the sacrificial lamb will be yet - it's a toss up between Hujoo Wings and Hujoo Hujoo right now...
