Apparently my 50th Anniversary 5" Other Doctor action figure was delivered late last night or very early this morning. One of the dogs opened the shipping box and carried the Doctor in to the house to begin to chew on him. The outer plastic case is cracked and a loss but the Doctor himself is fine. Pics later when I get good light.

Oooh, tha sucks hard, i wouldve been so mad. Were you trying to keep it in the package?

It would have been useful as a container but I'm not one of those keep the box people. The stuff inside was fine as we always check on what the dog has.

Boss at work asked my sister and I a favor to work 10am to 7pm next Wednesday (when my availability is only from 7am to 2pm) so that we would be on shift while we have this official-grading-us-thing going, so they're rounding up the fast and good workers to be on the same floor. I agreed for the fact that is is a favor and it's not like it's everyday. Right after agreeing boss told us that down side was that we'd be starting at 7am the next day. Fiiiiine, suck it up.

But it doesn't stop there.

Next day I check my roster for the coming week with the official thing day and it said we were on for 8am to 5pm. Yey? but I wasn't sure so I confirmed it with the boss again. Apparently I was to "just follow" the roster, oh sweet so we get to rest an extra 2 hour before coming in next day. Nope. When I turned around to go back to work boss added "Just be ready to be extended" Yeah, right. I know boss meant we'd be staying 'till 7pm anyways.

I've done my fair share of working extra hard on normal days, have had my fair share of 12 hour shift because no one could do that certain job and by the labor work or I guess the standard my sister and I work at the pay is not worth it. Which is why I decided to fix my availability so that they can't go "Can you stay till..?" every single day even though there's enough staff and more to change over in a few hours.

This is why sometimes I hate myself for trying my best. I have done my best, and I have earned their trust yes, but yeah you know sometimes some people may use that to your own disadvantage.

/rant end
Thanks for reading lol

arg. the dog at work bit another little kid that was roughhouseing with her. now she's in quarantine again... and I may have accidentally guilted my parents into adopting her if she can't go back to work.

One of our best dogs wasn't recommended for a house with small kids. He needed people who understood dog body language. One of his favorite games was to play tag, he would hop up on three legs and touch someone with his uplifted paw then get in to a "chase me" position until you went after him.

And dogs make great burger alarms, our little yappers also work as door bells for my half deaf mom.

newbie kinda likes that game too. she'll put a toy in your lap, and when you reach to take it, she'll grab it and run off for you to chase her.

I almost died yesterday o.o I didn't post about it because it was still making me shake to talk about it.

Those of you that are not familiar with Route 3 outside of Boston, just know that it is a 2 lane highway, with no shoulder on the left, and a heavy traffic volume during rush hours. (like most highways around densely populated cities) I was driving in the left lane, no one was in front of me. In the right lane, was a small silver car, and a very LARGE red SUV. The SUV was almost immediately to my right, and I had to be in his blind spot or something. Suddenly, red SUV decides he DOES NOT WANT to be behind the little silver car anymore and just merges into my lane without looking, checking, or signaling. Their rear end was nearly in my passenger seat. I slam on the brakes and horn, but my car loses control, and the nose swerves into the left, where, as I mentioned, there is no shoulder. I nearly hit the guard rail; I thought for sure I was going to. Then I spin back to the right, into the other lane, and then one more time, to the left, and go into a full rotation. I will never forget the terror of seeing the oncoming traffic, and realizing that my car has STALLED in the middle of a full spin. I yank the wheel, and get the car mostly straightened out, and coast into the shoulder on the right side, but my trunk is still sitting halfway into the lane. One guy stopped and asked if I was OK, I shook my head no, and he gestured that he was calling 911. I didn't think I hit anything, but my car wasn't starting, and I was still sitting halfway into the lane. On top of that, my blood sugar was low, and I could feel myself going into a panic attack. Two other guys stopped, and one of them came up to my window, and opened his wallet to display a badge, and said he was an off duty police officer. He asked if I was ok, if I hit anything, and I was too hysterical to answer him fully, I don't even remember what I said, just that I started bawling that my car wouldn't start and I was still in the lane and the other car ran me off the road. He managed to get me to put the car in neutral and they pushed me into the shoulder, and said there was a state trooper on the way, and then as soon as he confirmed I did not in fact need an ambulance or tow truck, and that I had not actually hit anything, nor had I blown out any tires, and FINALLY, my car was able to start, he and the third person that stopped went on their way. The first guy that stopped, that actually saw me spin out stayed until the officer got there, gave me an unopened bottle of water, and told me that it was amazing I didn't hit anything, that I managed to get the car under control and get it mostly to the shoulder. He was very nice, and he offered me a piece of fruit, and I gotta say, Faith in Humanity restored. But holy hell I was so terrified. I really did think I was going to black out from the adrenaline crash, and the low blood sugar. My vision started going black, and I couldn't breathe, and my face and hands were tingling.

OKAMI!! OH MY GOD. Sweetheart I am SO GLAD you are alright. Just...so glad. I think we all tend to forget that cars are essentially hurtling metal death traps until something like that happens. I am just thankful you kept your wits about you enough to get to the shoulder of the road.

Well, my suck is minor as hell in comparison to that whopper. Just another ER visit. They know me, which is never good.

Hmnn...the car thing still has me rattled now. My mother had a similar experience when she was younger. She used to own a car affectionately called "The Green Hornet" because it was pea-green, and she had a head on collision with a car that had spun out of control. The other car was fine. She thought hers was too more or less, getting it onto the side of the road. No sooner does she stop the thing then the entire frame drops out. She was sitting, injury free, inside a crushed tin can.

By the grace we live to talk about these experiences.
