Horrible knees run in my family. I exercise to try and help but I'm on my feet all day in a classroom. I have flat feet, put all my weight on my heels no matter how I stand, and I get horrible pains, especially in my right big toe (feels arthritic but it is in the second knuckle, not the base). I can't sit at work; I was sitting for about two minutes checking a project for a student when I was observed and I was told not to do so. When I get home and relax then get up again to go to the kitchen or bathroom I can barely move. I really need something that supports my feet, because this pain is becoming overwhelming and it's only October. I know that partially it's because I need new shoes but I have no idea what to get. I've tried sneakers, Toms/Bobs, boots, heels, no heels, orthopads, nothing works.
Orthaheel.
I have plantar fasciitis and have not had a moment of pain since switching to Orthaheel shoes.
Don't buy them full price. On ebay you can find brand new ones, or ones that were tried on and returned, for half to a third of the price of new ones. I've bought 4 pair of the returned ones, and you can't tell them from new.
When you first try them you probably won't like them because there is no cushioning. You don't actually want cushioning, which can be part of the problem, not the solution. You want extremely firm support, and Orthaheel shoes give that.
