So after a long discussion with my husband, we've decided that if I can't find a job, ANY job, in the next two months we will have to file for bankruptcy. I am starting to really regret getting my bachelors degree. I feel worthless. I've been turned down for everything in and out side my field. I can't even get a job at a temp agency.

deviantart says that there should be a link to delete the picture to the left of it, and I don't see one anywhere :? and It won't let me edit a picture either. Just lets me copy or move it :( of course I have also been known to miss things too

I knew a cashier at walmart with the same issue. There was a school administrator in my line talking about how important college is and how much better people would live if they went to school, and the cashier turned around and told her that her degree has done nothing for her but put her in debt. I guess not too many places that require a degree are hiring :? makes me wonder if I should bother continuing school right now

Yeah the pros and cons of getting degrees is tricky, I say as I'm starting grad school. I'm in a job right now that requires a BA to be hired but skill wise needs maybe an associates degree. My husbands undergrad was definitely worth it, but the field he was trying to enter completely collapsed while he was in grad school so his very expensive masters is basically useless. My incredibly hardworking and bright best friend has her masters and is thankful to have just gotten a job at a Barnes and Noble after applying literally everywhere. I basically just look at our student loan statements every month and try not cry. Adding to them for grad school is actually physically painful and if I can get all my qualifications and find a job in my field it'll pay off and be worth it, but I continue to freak out and pray it works.

Maybe getting certified in a field would be a way to go, it says you can tell your bum from your elbow without breaking your bank. Once you start somewhere you can get additional learning to move up.

Kae ... sorry for what will sound like a stupid question, but are you signed in to DA? I ask because I've thought I was signed in before and found out after some frustration that I really wasn't.

Spent all day trying to sew a Kimono and a pair of shorts. Guess what I have.

A bag full of scrap and ruined fabric, along with a sore back.

I've done job searches online to see what's out there. It's pretty thin. I'm sorry you guys are having such a hard time of it and hope you find something soon.

My daughter just got her masters. She got a part-time job at her church, in food service for the school they run. She has applied everywhere, from Wal-Mart and the shops at the mall, gas stations, quick marts, to universities and the local college. No one in the hometown or surrounding towns within ah hour's drive are hiring. The pickings are really slim where I live, too. I have been getting the paper lately and the help wanted section doesn't have much at all.

My suck...the physical therapist wanted me to do ice massage on my hip to bring down the swelling. After 10 minutes, my hip is twice as swollen. Stretching makes it more swollen, too. I take 1000mg of Ibuprofin a day and my hip stays swollen. I see a new doc Thursday. I am going to ask about bursitis since the X-rays came back normal. *sigh*

I had to pass on the Louis XVI 1/3 scale doll bed. $400 was a great price but if I have to keep going to physical therapy, that is two weeks of therapy and Ian needs to see the ENT again because the permanent tube is wiggling around in his ear. *sigh* when it rains it pours. I just want my son to feel better and to get over the ear pain. The doll bed (film, chems, new doll, ect...) can wait.
My what big EYES you have!

My suck isn't really all that sucky all things considered (well, leaving out the situation in which I'm stuck in a different country than my husband, but that's a whole nother long story and I don't want to go there right now heheh)...

I just spent all afternoon making 1/3 scale tatami mats. Only I accidentally made them more like 1/6th scale because I'm a dummy and I didn't check my numbers >.<

I wonder if anyone would buy 1/6 scale tatami mats on Etsy >.<

...(actually scratch that, I don't think I did a professional enough job to warrant selling them either :P)
I'm not an artist, I just make stuff...
(and blog about it at http://unplas.tk)
