Hey all. It’s been a while since I’ve been around but so far 2013 has been fairly crazy and I haven’t had much time for dolls. The suck kind of topped off at the beginning of June when my otherwise healthy grandma fell and broke her hip. She should have been fine but the surgeon messed up(something he basically admitted to) and she died from bone marrow entering her heart during the operation. The family fall out from that has been unexpected and intense and generally exhausting. I also just started grad school which is really awesome but time consuming. I’m hoping to actually spend some time with my dolls, and hopefully to get caught up and start posting here again. I’m really sorry for all the crap that everyone else is dealing with and if you need it I am sending positive thoughts your way.

I don't know what the hell it is with 2013. Seems like it has been a shitstorm for everyone so far. We were just recovering from my FIL's death from congestive heart failure on May 24th when on July 11th my husband was helicoptered out of here with a heart attack. Three days later he had a double-bypass and then was in the hospital another week. He is home now and recovering- it is major surgery though and will take several months before he will be good as new. The GOOD NEWS is that he should have a full recovery. But DAMN this has been a f*cked up year.

Cirquemom, my DH's cardiologist says that surviving a heart attack is already against the odds, so it's wonderful that your DH is doing so well. Take it as a sign that things are looking up! My DH is dealing with artery disease, so we are hoping to avoid the possible future bypass surgery. But my condolences on your FIL's death.

FamedGlory, sorry about your Grandmother. My mom was lost to a hospital screw-up too. I hope you have many good memories of your Gran to cherish.

Cirquemom, I'm so sorry you're going through such a tough year. 2013 seems to have it in for some of us indeed. I hope your husband will get better. I wish you lots of strength for the rest of this year. *hugs*

It stands for Designated Hitter. In the American League the DH hits in the pitcher's spot. In the National League pitchers still have to bat. During inter league play both teams abide by the DH/no DH rules of the home team.
