Thanks, and thanks to everyone. I'll be happy with whatever I get, I feel blessed either way. <3 Though honestly, and despite the inherent risks, twins would rock. It's a total two-fer. Insta-sibling!

Geek stuff might not appeal as the kid gets older. If my kid is like my husband then he/she will have a much calmer temperament and a higher IQ too but if the kid is like me then I'm thinking competitive athletic events will be a pretty big draw. When it's time the kid will decide, we'll do our best to expose said offspring to all the stuff we can afford to. But I'm still getting those super cute Trek onsies. Weee... adorable!

I was never much into athletics myself, but there's no reason those and geekery need to compete! Maybe you can steer them towards SCA tourneys?

Congrats!!

With all those stories of young geek children with parents who wanted football players, I have one for ya. I nanny/tutor for two little boys, 7 and 8. The 8 year old is just like his Dad, geeky and nerdy to the hilt. The whole family is wonderfully geeky and nerdy. Problem, the 7 year old is taking an interest into sports. Family is simply ignoring his wants because they don't understand him. It's total reverse for the poor kid. I'm trying to see if the Dad would allow some T-ball or any sport. Poor kid is just miserable.

aww, that's horrible. Control freaks of any variety annoy me.
