After crocheting that pink dress, I decided that I don't like it.

SpiralPrince: Boy do I know how that feels - my box full of floating heads is somewhat proof of that... Not to mention the terrible and huge "wishlist"

At last calculation my wishlist on Mintoncard totaled about 13 boys, 6 girls, and three gender neutral dolls, not counting of course the obitsus, hujoos and clothes and such. *Sighs* If only I could win the lottery.

victoriavictrix wrote:I can see why you thought "New Orleans" rather than upper New York State. As a Brit, when you think "New York," you think of New York City. Upper New York State is full of small towns that were built up from about 1820-1900, about the same time that New Orleans was built up; ie, Victorian and American Gothic style. The big difference is in the exterior decoration; in New Orleans, exterior decoration is almost exclusively done in wrought iron because of both the damp and insect problems; wooden "gingerbread" wouldn't last very long down there. In upper New York State, the exterior decoration is carved wooden "gingerbread."

Most New York City expatriots go north rather than south; up into the state itself, or farther north than that, just as former London dwellers generally don't venture farther away than Wimbledon. The culture shock isn't nearly as great, not to mention the heat.

Ah! Yes that makes a lot of sense - thanks! :) Huh iron vs wood and of course human nature... Now to adjust headcanon!

Also: "Soft glass" bjd eyes - I know I should avoid silicone ear plugs; but do you just stick them in with the usual eyeputty? If I do get a pair I'd much rather not destroy them immediately with idiocy! Especially since they'd be the most expensive eyes I'd ever bought

Wow! That custom sculpt is so cool! Wigless he looks like a caricature of ROB, and with a wig he turns into Jareth. Huh I'd have never have thought of combining cartoony styles with bjds... Despite the fact that anime/manga definitely influence their look

Huh... I could buy a mid-price bjd for the mark-up that my 3 coloured Bowie vinyls have gained, all released less than a month ago... It's rather ridiculous the extortionate amount they're going for on EvilBay... Tempting though it is Bowie is my other great hobby/obsession so I'll keep them, but :o !!!

Is there a smiley with an evil grin? I made a comment on You Tube and it's attracting polarized dumb like flies. I'm popping popcorn and waiting for the spelling and grammar to get worse. Perhaps occasional troll baiting is something I should work on to be a better human being, perhaps it just means I'm human.

Doll wise things are progressing with crochet gage swatches. Once that's done it'll be easier to work out things like the Monster High dress. Did find out that can be worked in a tube so the back isn't open. And the knots in Aubergine's hair are holding which means great news for more reroots :)

Welp I traded Alister away for this little cutie.

Image

She's impossibly cute and has such a big bum and is just pouty and silly. I kind of want to do her up sort of like one of the Sugar Rush kids because of how cartoony she is.

Also I just got a Monoprice tablet to replace my old Wacom. If anyone is in the market for a tablet, definitely go for a Monoprice. I got a 10"x6.5" one and its huge and nice and has better pressure sensitivity than my Wacom. You can kind of feel the pressure because the tip is a little springy, which is nice. And it has buttons on the pad for copy/paste, zoom, undo, etc. Not bad for $50 (the Bamboo I was looking at was $80 and not as big!)

Well it's subtle... I did want it to be subtle.

I wanna cry. I spent my whole day on it and this is what I got. *curls up in the fetal position*

I know the feeling. :( /passes the Kleenex box. I'm sorry because that just really hurts.

This is what I did over the weekend:

That is my daughter and her newest son, Lincoln.

I got to cuddle and love my newest grandson! He christened me. Lol! I was burping him and he spit up just a little bit on me. I said, "Awwwwwwwwwww! You 'pit up on me, Lincoln! Awwwwwwww! Poor baby! How cute!" His older brother, 4, said "How gross!" Lol!

Part of me has always wanted a chocolate colored doll, just got to find the right sculpt. Every day spent doing is learning. Some times you literally do not know until you do.

This morning's realization ZOMG U SUX!!!1!! just might be the limit to some people's means of communication. And that along with snarky product reviews are all they have to say they exist. Along with the wondering why someone has to log in somewhere just to leave a bad comment in the first place. At that time in their life they literally can't do any better.

I was at walmart looking at monster high dolls, and was joined by a lady about my age and her daughter. she seemed happy to have someone grown up to talk about dolls with.
