I'd love a female Doctor, though lets be honest it's a bit soon to be thinking of Tennant's kid in terms of acting dynasties!
I'd truly love a female Doctor to pop-up, after all if you can change every cell in your body (and as evidenced by Romana's regeneration your species), genatalia is hardly going to be a big deal.
The amount of misogyny this has stirred up over on the Doctor Who forum is a bit appalling to be frank! I mean look at Starbuck, or female HG Wells! Hmph - it's already established in the show (Neil Gaiman again - thank goodness he decided to join the ranks of Doctor Who scripters) that timelords have a rather different take than we do on sex, reproduction and the like. I mean there's The Corsair; who seemingly swapped sex every other body, and the whole mess as to The Looms, Pythia's Curse, and the fact that The Doctor is more or less asexual by our standards anyway.
Despite all of the annoying hetero-male fans declaring that anything beyond their realm of experience is an abomination that viewers can't "relate to" and that female fans "only got in it for Tennant and Smiths" supposed sexual appeal. Ugh male scifi fans don't half live up to their stereotypes sometimes...
Anyhooow... My wishlist:
Paul McGann back for a series as Eight
Stephen Briggs
Claire Foy
Tilda Swinton
Richard Aoyade
Ben Whishaw
Rhys Darby
Simon Farnaby
David Bowie...
Ahem I'll stop!
