well technically he wanted an anullment, on the grounds he married his brother's wife and that was against biblical law. he might have even gotten an anullment, but he was being really stubborn and wanted the pope to admit the previous pope's ruling that the marriage was okay was wrong. plus the holy roman emperor was her nephew and the pope was very vulnerable to invasion at the time. re: the borigas.

Skip the Borgias series, the acting sucks rocks. The best 8 minutes involved Young Sherlock Holmes in tights and riding a horse.

You should write a book on Henry VIII. I saw the Six Wives thing and that was the first time I was actually interested. All these little bits make it sound even better.

I liked the Borgias, but there's a european series called Borgia that's quite a bit better. also more violent and sexual.

Blood and boobies don't matter to me if it's a good show but I didn't care about any of the characters in the US Borgias. I like a good history thing, an interesting one is a real turn on. The last ones I can remember liking were The Hanging Gale and Shackleton, both inspired me in their own ways, especially The Hanging Gale.

Heehee, just remembering how my high school literature teacher told us about henry viii; she used little plastic figures for each of the characters. She actually had a set of henry and all his wives, but she didn't have any of the other players so she used some miscellaneous toys my classmates had in their private space at school. Bloody Mary ended up being played by Piccolo from dragonball-z.

1/6 may be my least favorite scale to sew for (if only because I've never sewn for my Realpuki ), but I'd forgotten how funny it is when you're in the middle of a project and there's just pieces strewn everywhere. XD I've got a TV table next tme right now strewn with remote controls, fabric scraps...arms, and a limbless torso.
