New DDS in the house....

Why does it always seem like I'm getting new dolls? >.<;;;

Finally received my new Dollfie Dream Sister. So far I've been more than pleasantly surprised by her responsiveness to posing. I think that if these girls were a little more economical to acquire (like the obitsu and parabox vinyls), I'd own several more. ^.~

I haven't had much time to deal with photos... so, here's a quickie that I took a few days ago. Sorry, I've yet to put a head on her. <3

Looks like such a kitty girl pose there.

I'm guessing from the box she's sitting on that you got her mostly assembled. If so, I have to ask, where'd you find one preassembled? I've only seen the DDS available as A-La-Cart.

Soooo...

Dollfie Dream II bodies (This includes the original Dollfie Dream Dynamite and Mini Dollfie Dream. There are no Dollfie Dream Sisters in the DDII family.) are pre assembled and ready to have a head stuck on!

However, Dollfie Dream III bodies (Which includes Dollfie Dream Dynamite III, Mini Dollfie Dream III and Dollfie dream Sister.), will require assembly, but they are easy to assemble.

So in short words, there are no pre assembled DDS bodies.

Actually, you can get both the DDS and DD3 girls pre-assembled if you spring for the 'Standard' model. Those come with head (face-uped), wig, eyes, and slip. Granted, those cost around $500-$600 a pop.

I'm guessing that this girl originally was off of a standard DDS Mayu that got parted out.

I picked her (and another doll) up off of Yahoo Japan Auctions through a proxy service. She was around $250 before shipping and proxy fees. One of the reasons that she was probably a little cheaper is that she's got a little staining on the backs of her legs. The stains aren't anything serious, but they are there and will require chemical treatment if I ever really feel the burning desire to remove them. But, various vinyl volks bodies pop up on yahoo japan auctions all the time.

Right now I've no idea what I'm going to do with her. All I knew was that I wanted a DDS to help round out my vinyls, and managed to snag one for a decent price. ^///^

Still not sure what I'm gonna do about her head. XD

Kiki- what size is this body, and how does it compare to the same size of Obitsu? Looks pretty!

I see, good to know! Thanks!

Back when I was looking to get my first girl (so, last March), I recall that the DDS is about the height (just a tad taller maybe?) of the Obitsu 50s, while maintaining the 'thickness' of the standard Dollfie Dreams (waist, hips, bust, etc), but I don't remember having found any good pictures showing this off. I was actually tempted to get one, but the Obitsu50s were so much cheaper cost wise and I liked their joints better anyway. Would love to see some comparison shots myself though!

A lot of people buy the Volks full set anime characters, remove the clothes and accessories (and sometimes the head) to keep for themselves or resell separately and then resell the body. There are some great deals to be had on Yahoo Japan Auctions.

I'd say that there's little comparison between the DDS and Obitsu50cm. BTW, my DDS has the small bust on, if that's important at all. ^.~

Left to right: Obitsu 65cm male, DD1 (sorry about the staining!), DDS, Obitsu 50cm, Obitsu 60cm.

I haven't pulled out the measuring tape, but figured that it wasn't needed. The DDS is definitely larger, and REALLY is proportioned like a shorter Dollfie Dream. From what I understand, the DD2 is taller than the DD1.

For fun, I popped an extra Parabox Alice on the body; unfortunately that just looked really weird and pin-headed. It's all in the shoulder width vs face size. At some point I'll check and see how the body does with either a Misuzu or a Mizuki head. Till then, I'll prolly keep the Gretel on the body.
