My tomboy......Raurencio Stella

Postby TheShadow » Sat Oct 15, 2011 12:30 am

Last year, Raurencio Studio had a one-day-only sale on their SD female heads (Christmas Day) and my husband let me have one for my gift. It took forever to find the time to do her face, but she is now done (I'm not entirely settled on her eye color just yet though). She has a rather large nose, but it is realistically shaped and I think that just adds to her character. She's the Stella head.....and I've named her Charlie (nickname for Charlotte) Reid. She'll be a police lieutenant in our photostories and work for Captain Frank Lassiter (Unidoll Ark). She's not "pretty", but she has a girl-next-door wholesomeness about her. I'm glad I got her head because Raurencio Studio has not put their SD women back up for sale since (she's on a Unidoll real body which fits like it was made for this head). Anyways......here's Charlie......

Oh I disagree, I think she's beautiful!! But you're definitely right about that girl next door vibe. Hm. Maybe that's why I find her so lovely. I adore that sort of underrated charming beauty. -squees- I hope we see more of this pretty lady. >3<

I really like her and I love the way you've done her face-up. She's beautiful! And completely believable as her character.

I love her face. When can I find your photostory with her in it?

Thank you, OkamiKodomo! I've got to make her some decent police type clothes for her first appearance... :D

Thanks, cirquemom! I only have one other SD size girl (and one SD female floating head) so it was nice to add a new girl to my crew!

Thank you, maywong! As soon as I get her police woman clothes done, she'll be appearing in our stories.... :D

Thank you, famedglory! They mainly do male BJD's, but had a few ladies for a while. After the Christmas head sale where they allowed the purchase of the female heads, they've since stopped selling the SD size ladies. I'm hoping that they will put them back into production in the future because I really wanted to get Ray....she's so pretty and she's an elf. They've talked about a new "Lady Line" but so far....nothing. *sigh*

Interesing to note is that when we had purchased a couple Unidolls from the Unidoll site a few years back (which is now out of business) the boxes had "Unidoll" on the top, but at the bottom of the box in small print was "A Raurencio Studio Project". So somewhere, somehow, these two companies must've been working together at some point. Raurencio Studios still exists.....here's a link:

http://raurencio.net/index.php

When we got the Stella head, we needed a body, so we finally found a Unidoll Roxy on ebay......and thinking that the two companies had designed them, thought it'd be the perfect fit for the head. And sure enough....when it came, it was like the body was made for the head. The neck fit was perfect and the skin tone was exact. So now my girl is *whole*. :D
