Companies that manufacture bjds?

Hi

Could you guys please help by pointing me in the direction of some reputable bjd companies? I've heard of SOOM, but of course they're far too expensive for a first doll, when I'm not even sure if I'll really get into dolls at this scale. (Though tbh it seems v.likely - all the photos I've seen make them look absolutely lovely) I've thought up a budget for the next few months that may allow me to buy one by December, real life permitting of course...

Edit: For instance are there any more like 5stardoll - kind of budget SD sized dolls?

Hi Vetinari san!

Oh yes! There are actually quite a few in that range! I love AoD (Angel of Dream) for their body and particularly head sculpts! They have such variety and expression!!

Angel of Dream range about $260 + s/h for a 1/3 bjd.

Also, there's ResinSoul and Bobobie and FantasyDoll and Angel Street, which are even less costly! They range from $160 - $220 + s/h.

Junkyspot carries most of the brands above, too! ^^

There are some others as well, but they're more difficult to import. (YuHao, Lost Angel)

Hope it helps!!

For middle-range companies theres also Dollzone, Luts, Fairyland, Dollmore, Angell Studio, HZ, B&G... Plus the vinyl dolls fall into this price range, the 60cm Obitsu and Volks Dollfie Dreams. And if you're not sure you want a bigger doll, you could try out an MSD size. A little smaller, and some companies like DZ and Fairyland have fairly mature MSD dolls so they can be dressed in more adult styles.

Thanks again! I think I might have found my 1st 1/3 scale doll - as long as he doesn't sell out before I've saved enough!

It's his profile that does it - for some reason I really like his oversized nose...

Edit: Actually is this guy the same sculpt just with elf ears?

Gang and Mu are pretty close, sculpt-wise, but Mu is a hooved boy!

They also sell them at Junkyspot, Featherfall just sometimes has more photos of them, but only does pre-orders. Junkyspot only lists things they have in stock, but you can special order if you contact Emory via email.

Ah - thanks! I wouldn't have spotted that at all. Much as I'd like a hooved boy eventually I'd prefer humanoid for now

Featherfall also is in Canada, I think, which makes for a bit slower shipping (since it has to go through customs). For starter BJDs I definitely agree that Bobobie/Resinsoul is a great starter brand with awesome prices :) As far as quality goes, if Junkyspot or Featherfall sell it then you can consider it to be great quality as both are concerned for their customers.

If you like the Mu ears and horns but want the gang body you could always shoot Emory an Email. He takes special orders it just takes a while to get them produced.

I've been really happy with Mint On Card too, they also offer some low-priced BJDs like Angel Street and Fantasy Doll. And the shipping in the US is super-quick, I usually get in-stock items within two days. They also offer layaway.
