If I were to save up, which one should I get?

I've been wanting an Iplehouse Akando for a long time now, but he's so expensive! >_< I honestly don't know if I could part with that much money for him. I just came across another doll that I think is totally gorgeous (a LoongSoul Morgan), and he's not quite as expensive...the dealer I'm looking at offers a layaway plan and I could have him in three months. But it's still a lot of money.
I'm not sure if I'll even end up buying either one this year, but if it were you, which would be worth saving for?

Akando: http://iplehouse.net/shop/step1.php?number=1251

Morgan: http://www.loongsouldoll.com/Product_Show.asp?id=195

Ugh, why do they both have to be so beautiful...?
:P

This won't help, but Iplehouse does layaway as well. Have you held a 70 cm doll? I have seen an Akando in person and I can tell you he is even more gorgeous than the pictures. But he is huge! This is the first time I have seen a Morgan-see if there are owner pictures anywhere.

Ha ha...really? Oh no...XD I've never had the opportunity to even see a 70cm doll up close, but I've asked people who have, and they always mention how enormous they are, and really heavy, too. I think you're the only person who I've talked to who's seen an Akando, though. Ah, he's just really perfect; I don't mind the girlier looking guys, but I don't want to buy one, and Iplehouse's guys are some of the most masculine I've ever seen. I am gonna have to check out their layaway plan, now...if only to get some idea of a saving plan for myself.
I haven't been able to find many owner pictures of Morgan...too bad, too, because his is such a pretty sculpt and I'd love to see different versions of him. I'll just have to keep looking!

I think you should go for Akando. Iplehouse does make very high quality dolls, That said, I have seen a 70cm doll and trust me, I think you should see one in person first. Iplehouse 70cm dolls are really large and hard to handle due to the thickness of their resin and the bulk of the sculpt's musculature. They are heavy and they seem like they could easily pinch your finger when posing if you're not careful. 70cm dolls from other companies might be different and I might just be scared to handle them because they belong to someone else. I have a 60cm boy doll (who i haven't posted about yet.) and he's fairly easy for me to deal with. Iplehouse are easy to resell though so if you do get one and you don't bond, you could resell/trade him for something else?

As I always say to everyone who asks questions like this - go with the doll that is calling to you the most. Buying another doll because it costs less won't help because you'll always regret not getting the one you wanted.

@thisstrangeforest: That's what I was afraid of; you all know how to play devil's advocate! LOL!

@landwhale: I should definitely try to find someone who has one near me, and maybe arrange a meet or something...I mean if I do go for him, it'll take some time to save up enough for even a down payment anyway. Heh, probably not until sometime next year at this rate. He's really my dream doll, but I think it would be a lot easier to decide if he just didn't cost so darn much... -_-

@Chaye and Greyhaunt: Like I said, DEVIL'S ADVOCATE!!! But, he is really pretty and he's the one I want the most.
I think I'm gonna need a second job.

Seriously though, thank you, everybody. I can't ask things like this to just anybody...ha ha, I would definitely not have gotten the answer I was hoping for from, say, my mom.

My first doll was a 72cm. They are definitely unwieldy at times. I do prefer working with the 60cm range. Ivan isn't terribly hard to pose though. I just have to be careful that he doesn't faceplant, and use props and camera angles to my advantage. I want to get an Iplehouse EID one of these days. I liked Arvid and Kamau quite a lot. Such beefcakes! :-) Good luck in finding the right fellow!!

I guess I'm the only one who prefers the LoongSoul boy. I just love their sculpts, they're all so classy looking! But the Iplehouse boys are lovely too, of course. Just go with the one you love the most!

I think the one thing that bugs me a tad about the largest Iple boys is their thicker necks. I'm just not a beefcake kind of girl. ;)

One final point - if you're not averse to hybrids, Mint on Card offers Morgan's head for sale separately. If you find a less expensive body you like, the price difference could be pretty huge.
