Okay, this is KIND of off-topic, but kind of not and should probably be down in the accessories thread or whatever, but I find this really really exciting and decided to put it here where all the SD folks can see it. Someone has FINALLY come out with an actual SD-Sized horse!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!
Of course, because it is not jointed it can't be discussed on DoA (booo!) although they did allow the announcement to stay up.
I'm really excited about this- although I haven't seen the price yet (afraid to look). But I really, really want one of these.

Oooh, beautiful sculpting! No way I'd have the room, but he is beautiful -- I also like how you can paint him to be any color of horse you want. He's also BIG -- they made him large enough so the larger BJDs wouldn't look out of scale.

Price is comparable to some of the larger BJDs. Not cheap, but not unreasonable, either.

Remember, this is Dollieh Sanctuary - if it's dollieh related it is NOT offtopic :)

I saw this too....I think my only disappointment in it is that it has a sculpted mane and tail. I know, I know, nitpicking - but I would have preferred one that you could put a "faux" tail on.

Do. Want. I've been looking at the American Girl horse, but this is much better.

Those american girl horses are fuuuuuugly. they look like they are wearing a pair of fuzzy longjohns LOL. I've got two horses that size and they are great for MSDs (mine are the ones Target sells...I think) but more like a pony for the SD. That horse must be ginormous!

Grey if you read what they say on the site, the mane and tail can be easily sanded off so you can use real hair if you'd prefer. That's what I would do.
I bet that sucker is HEAVY! The legs are reinforced with steel to make them stronger.

I went there after I read that and saw what they said. I could see doing it for the tail, but here is my issue with the mane (and I'm not dissing this sculpt because it is incredibly beautiful). I really dislike that it is on the side of the horse that is facing "away" from the viewer. I would have really loved to have had the mane be on the side that we see in the photo because I just love the mane of a horse. And yes, I know I could sand the mane off of the other side and make it drape the way I want - BUT I'm not a sculpter and I sincerely doubt that I could sand away the mane and have the neck on the far side look even remotely like a well-sculpted neck. If the horse is fixed permanently looking a particular direction then I'd like the mane to be on that side for aesthetics.

Purely a personal nitpick, not meant to diss anyone's wanting this because hell if I had somewhere to put one I'd be wanting it too (frigging thing must be HUGE!), but those were my first impressions :(

Dremeling and filing down those sculpted mane isn't a problem for me. The hard part would be...how will one put on the mane? You can't re-root it...maybe make a horse toupee?
