My Dream Doll - DOD Kalix mod faceup with bonus questions

Hi.This is my third faceup. I had a lot of fun with it. It was the first time I got to use my airbrush on a doll too. I am trying with all my artistic might to create a DOD DOI Collection Black Luke. This is a test faceup to see if I could actually do a faceup for it. So now, I'm in the process of making a transaction to get a tan limited DOI body. Once that happens, I'll modify him to where I will elongate his ears and close his mouth with apoxie. If anyone has any advice for sculpting elf ears with apoxie and not having it droop, I would love to hear about it. I have seen people use masking tape as a form. That seems like an option. But, if you have heard any other methods in getting accuracy with elf ears, well, I'm all ears.

I've never done it before but maybe you could put some kind of wire or structure inside the ear so it doesn't droop?

Thank you for the suggestions guys! I made ear cut outs with bristol board paper and had used masking tape to place where I wanted my extended ears to be. I left a little bit of a seam to overlap apoxie. It worked out pretty slick.

Here he is so far. He just needs a little bit more smoothing out between the apoxie and resin. He also needs the "helix" part of of the ear. And then I can paint him. WOot! I have his tan DOD body. So, when I'm done I'll post his faceup. Thanks for looking.

Those are really great ears, he looks almost spot on! I can't wait to see when he's finished.
