Dollieh Sanctuary

Disclaimer: I do crazy things to dolls. That is all.

I have an original character named Mairaen Isheses (Mai for short!) who is a raccoon anthro girl. She's wacky, adventurous, and fond of not matching her clothes at all. Well, I recently adopted a 60cm Obitsu boy with the Gretel head and I decided it was time to have some fun.

I had two goals here:
1. Turn the boy into my girl, and
2. Paint only the parts necessary, because I know how fickle I am and I want to have to replace as few pieces as possible if/when I decide to change this doll around.

Here's what I started with:

I knew what clothes I'd be having this eventual-girl wear, so I'm fairly certain the only pieces I need to paint that will be visible to the public are the head, torso, hands, and shins. I'll end up painting more if I have to, but that's what I'm starting out with.

The large bust female torso is still on its way from JunkySpot, but I got to work on the rest of the pieces tonight, and this was my end result:


(My fiance said this was the most terrifying thing he's seen in ages.)

Still to do:
-paint the torso when it arrives
-see if anything else needs painting with all the clothes on
-alter the wig to fit her style more
-ears??!!
-find some glasses that fit her

So far so good, though, in my opinion anyway.

Interesting project! If you want to go with resin ears I recommend the ZM ears sold at Junkyspot. They magnet on through the wig so you can "pose" them and they come in a variety of sizes. Some of K2s girls have them as does one of my boys that I haven't photo'd much yet.

Looks like my box from JS is "out for delivery" this morning so hopefully my mailman will leave it even though I'm not there today.

Greyhaunt, I had wondered about those ZM ears. Do you suppose the MSD size would look better on this head for raccoon-type ears? Since they'd need to be smaller in proportion than cat ears, that's what I was leaning toward.

I think I have the MSD ones at home...if I remember (that can always be questionable) I'll pop them onto an SD head so you can see. I wish I had a gretel head, but I'm out of those at the moment. I do have a default 55cm head and those are similar in size

I'm not sure how I feel about her clothes, so she may be getting more paint/different clothes when I have money again.
She also still needs her ears and glasses.

I was feeling kind of "meh" about her at first, but the longer I look at her the happier I am with her.

I'm with your fiance with that picture. It doesn't help that there's eyes all over the place in the background. LOL :D

She looks so cool finished! Awesome job~

I lpve hpw she came out. Everyone on DOA has been bugging RS for a darker resin it seems. I wish they would come out with it so we can make dolls like your girl here!
